After a ten EPs in few years on respected labels such as Clergy, ARTS, Mord and an acclaimed debut album on Skryptöm, young and promising techno producer Kmyle is back on the French label Astropolis Records with ‘Keroual EP’, 3 originals and a stunning remix from French veteran Zadig. A contemporary EP that embodies all Kmyle’s technical and elegant techno, energy and his singular melodic synth work.

First up, A1 with the eponym track ‘Keroual’, in reference to Astropolis’ setting, a beautiful trip to its fairyland and a large electronic universe, with emotive melodies and light chords. An enchanting meditative and dancing track, as well-suited for the dancefloor as it is for home listening.

Samy steps the tempo up on A2 with ‘Telegraph’ and falls into darkness, undulating slowly in an evil dance, with a tense melody, a rumble bassline and a hypnotic techno. A metallic tune that works on every dancefloor.

On the flip side, ‘Syncopa’ keeping the drive from A2, seems tailored for a huge night with a forceful kick and a booming energy on its introduction, rapidly caught by a dramatic, intense and sizzling melody, enigmatic atmospheres and euphoric chords. A big tune for a big floor with a hammering beat and a delicious dark groove.

French well respected producer Zadig ends the EP with a brutal and gloomy version of ‘Keroual’, under a Day is Dying remix, a wink to his hardcore project. An obsessful kick with a ravey '90s vibe turning violently the track in a stripped-back hardcore version and its intensity. Uncompromising and raw, quite cinematic at the beginning, slow-burning to madness. A pleasant chaos anthem dedicated to industrial atmospheres.

This new release from Astropolis Records is a perfect blend between old school rave culture, rock-solid tunes and a modern palate of techno, feeding a melodic and melancholic sensitivity.

Premiere: Kmyle - Keroual [AR12]

Composé pendant les premières semaines de confinement, PISS OFF, MORON ! illustre l'incurie de l'Etat Macron depuis le début de la crise du coronavirus. Les samples présents dans le morceau, tirés à 95% de reportages des grandes chaînes nationales de TV, illustrent cette comédie humaine remplie de mensonges éhontés dont nous avons toustes pu saisir les relents de mépris. Cette track est une sorte de clash cinglant à l'encontre des responsables politiques qui, somme toute, ont persévéré à utiliser l'autorité de l'état policier comme solution miracle à des problèmes qui ne pourront jamais être résolus par des tirs de LBD. 

Guipol, DJ et producteur autodidacte all DIY, puise son inspiration dans ce que la culture rave a de plus cathartique et de plus déjanté. Les tracks qui frappent fort transmettent des émotions puissantes et libératrices qu'il s'efforce d'insuffler tant dans ses sets que dans ses productions. Ses maîtres mots : hard dance, hard music, hard love, stay weird !
On retrouve également Guipol derrière le projet L3X01000, duo partagé avec son éternel partner in crime Depression Mondaine. Pour eux, les sonorités agressives et brutales du hardcore, du gabber et de la hardtechno-indus sont une manière de sublimer les violences subies par la communauté tpg. Avec ce projet commun, ils essaient de créer un levier de résistance en visibilisant des identités non conformes dans une culture club underground qui s'apparente toujours majoritairement à un cisboys' club.

And now for a little bit of musical history. In 1987 his label, judging him washed up after poor sales, decides to let him go. Ciao la France, Nougaro lands in NYC to meet new people, in search of a new sound. And here’s the result, Nile Rodgers on the guitar, two Blues Brothers behind the trumpet & sax, 500.000 single sold and a career fully relaunched.
