It really hit me just how much talent we lost with him, and how much the music scene has changed since. This song is far from perfect, but it was a lot of fun to create. In Fighting the Silence, the story takes a darker, introspective turn as the narrator wrestles with inner battles and mental struggles. This chapter dives into the quiet wars fought alone—the moments when doubt, fear, and isolation grow loudest in the stillness of night.

The narrator feels trapped in a cycle of overthinking and loneliness, but there’s also a flicker of determination beneath the surface, a refusal to let those thoughts win.

The song’s slow, reflective tempo, combined with a haunting acoustic melody, amplifies the sense of being lost in your own head while searching for a way out. Sweet Temptation's Fall

I grew up in an ethnically diverse neighborhood in the Bronx, NYC, during a period of intense racial tension. Just getting through the day at school was a struggle. I picked up the guitar as a way to stay off the streets, and I found that music was the only thing that could transcend those barriers.  My song “Living on the Wrong Side of Town” is inspired by those early experiences.

When I tried pursuing a degree in music, I ended up switching to computer science instead. I didn’t have the confidence or self-esteem back then, and, to be honest, I didn’t want to struggle. I reflect on those decisions in my song “Making Choices.”

Many years have passed, and I’ve done well for myself. But music has always been a constant, helping me navigate through the hardest times. The difference now is that I have more life to draw from, more stories to tell.

When you write a song and truly connect to it, it becomes a piece of who you are—a reflection of your journey.
