Let’s be honest, openly admitting you love U2 and Coldplay is rare these days, but for LOS LEO (aka Tom Montesi) that’s all he heard coming out of the family stereo in suburban Adelaide.

Often it’s the smallest moment that can spark a new path and for LOS LEO that crossroad was receiving an acoustic guitar on his 8th birthday. Learning his favourite pop songs developed into writing originals and by his late teens he was following the dream: starting a band with his mates.

Band comps lead to support slots, which lead to solo shows and just as the vibe was building…they broke up. Sure, putting another band together might have worked, but for Tom he thought he’d go it alone.

So far everything about LOS LEO has been “under the radar”. He may live in a small city at the bottom end of Australia and there might be a mountain of songs written in his bedroom that are yet to see the light of day, but here’s the thing about honest songwriting and a voice as enchanting as Tom’s, it’s only a matter of time before people start falling in love.

If there was ever a time that country music needed a duo like The Dryes, it’s now. Since launching their career in 2018, The Dryes, husband and wife Derek and Katelyn, have caught the attention of USA Today, Rolling Stone, People Magazine, American Songwriter, Country Living Magazine, among others, and have gained thousands of fans and followers along the way.

In 2023, The Dryes hit the road with Jo Dee Messina as direct support on her national “Heads Carolina, Tails California” Tour. The pair also made their debuts at CMA Fest and the Carolina Country Music Festival, captivating a crowd of 35k fans. While on the road, The Dryes secured a partnership with Cheerwine, and Derek landed a spot as an official PRS Guitars artist and will be featured by Billboard talking all things guitar later in 2024.

The Dryes also embarked on their first headlining tour, “Christmas with The Dryes,” and their last EP, ‘Raisin’ Beers & Hallelujahs’, further solidified The Dryes as a seasoned, leading duo in the country music landscape. As The Dryes gear up to hit the main stages at fairs and festivals this summer, as well as their debut at Live in the Vineyard in Napa Valley this month, the duo is continuing to tease new music ahead of their upcoming six song EP, ‘Dear Heart’, set to release May 17th. ‘The Associates’ have just released their debut album 'RED DRESS' both on line and live at Adelaide's premier band room the Gov in April 2015. 
The album which  reached No.1 on the Australian ITUNES blues charts, is getting interest from people all over the globe and the guys are super excited to be 'out showcasing' live at venues across Australia. . 

'Red Dress' was tracked in various studios around Adelaide from April to June '14, with the guys heading to Nashville for final production and mixing with Andrija Tokic in July. Andrija mixed the Grammy nominated smash debut album for the Alabama Shakes 'Boys & Girls'.
The album also features some of Nashville's best musos including the late Ikey Owens from the 'Jack White band' & 'The Mars Volta' on hammond, rhodes & farfisa. 

The band rounded out an inspired 2014 by winning the ARBA/SA Blues & Roots Association 'Most Outstanding New Act' award. 2015 has seen BCA travel throughout much of SE Australia promoting their album, this includes Melbourne's CherryBar, Bar 303 and B-East, Adelaide's Deep South Blues Fest, the Bendigo Blues Fest, Lazybones in Sydney and the National Press Club in Canberra, along with a series of regional stop overs. 

2016 sees the guys continue touring with dates already booked at the Geetroit Fest in Geelong, the BlenheimFest in Clare, and more dates in Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney. To add to a busy ’16 a planned first tour to the USA where it will play a number of premier rooms and festivals including Summerfest and Rosemont. The guys will also be hooking up with music legend Stan Lynch who will be working with the band on its next album.

Cruickshank has seen four time zones and three continents within the last ten days, but you wouldn’t know it if you saw him. His smile is deep and earnest: eyes blue like wild rapids, he moves with military posture and the swagger of a weathered rockstar. He’s in between a 10-day tour of South East Asia, a meeting in Los Angeles, and a red carpet event with Tiesto, but even a hard look at Cruickshank couldn’t spot any sign of exhaustion or apathy. He’s a workhorse, both as an artist and as a man—as untiring as he is considerate, as mischievous as he is honest, and as rugged as he is pure.
 
Cruickshank is the son of pastors, but that didn’t keep him from drifting in and out of the grit of the Australian coast. Though his scars are tough as old leather and his tattoos have already started to fade with the years, he can still feel the bitter sting of the day he got each one. Most rock singers strive for a pained and heavy sound. Cruickshank can’t help it. With each song, his heart crumbles under its memories struggling to keep up with each beat.
 
You could say that he's a force of nature. He can move mountains with his shaggy grin, cure the deepest blues with a sigh of Camel smoke. There’s something wild in the contours of his face, something untamed in the darker parts of his eyes: rub him the right way and he’ll save your life; rub him the wrong way and he’ll take it away.
 
Cruickshank’s songs paint pictures of life it is it’s truly felt. His crackling, soaring melodies are painfully honest; his storytelling is careful but unchained, like the working class heroes before him. Where Woody Guthrie once stood spinning tales from the Great Depression, where the Boss once was with his raw New Jersey parables, Cruickshank is the voice of every broken heart that’s hungry for something bigger.
