Sam Karam and Francis Sapphire wanted to have an outlet for putting out the stuff they were finding online and getting sent from friends - hereby founding Anti Skate.

Anti Skates debut release comes in the form of a split remix E.P headed by label owner Sam Karam's banging remix of Pepe's 'The Old Shipyard'. The second cut is Pepe's colorful and nostalgic 'Ay Karamba' remix of Sam's 'Let it be me'. This tracks' hypnotic chord sequence and vocal stabs induce an entranced state whilst remaining utterly engaged in its development. The rapidly emerging, Brighton based Pépe even incorporates an audacious switch of bpm into the breakdown which is really something to behold.

It was only late last year that PIFF Records dropped their successful first release PIFF001 ‘To Adelaide’, showcasing a palate of uprising Australian producers and including with it an impressive Boiler Room Debut. Now, the Britol record imprint returns with Berlin-based Jesse Bru  on solo duties in PIFF002 ‘Heartless Love EP’.

PIFF002 makes for a charming, anecdotal story-teller, cohesive in its structure; Bru is deliberate in his placement of the four well-crafted tracks. Sandwiched in the middle between a lighthearted, playful 8-minutes of A1 ‘Let Me Know’, and the aptly named, moody yet invigorating B1 ‘Late Nite Jam’, is our track of choice.

A2 ‘Heartless Love’ opens with glitches of bright, celestial synth arpeggios ringing above wind-chimes. A fluid, acid bass-line soon pervades, mellow and muffled when held against the crunchy, industrial percussive highs. Bru continues to play with opposites in shaping his bass-drum kicks, contrasting the steady four-to-the-floor thumps with more softly erratic rhythms. The vocal sample is perfectly understated, with each word yearningly suspended a touch longer than anticipated. Adding to the tracks eccentricity, Bru works in bursts of melodic slides, grainy edits and short delays. It’s as if the track drops you into a wavy old colour box-tv set in a dim, yellow-lit room, inviting you on a nostalgic journey of distorted memories and fuzzy dreams. 

PIFF002 ‘Heartless Love EP’ rounds off with a bustling B2 ‘Tribute’, but also includes a Bandcamp bonus fifth track on mp3: the feel-good dance-cut ‘Tried’ is an ideal close for the upbeat yet quietly sentimental PIFF002 soundtrack. Pre-order the record here ahead of its May 30th release!

Today we received warm tidings from the south of France via Germany. STRCTR Records is providing us with their fifth EP, a very deep escape into the rhythm, deep grooves, and loose cuts. The French label is becoming a little asset for the house scene as it works with names like Harrison BDP, Matthieu Faubourg and the latest, the duo 'Das Carma'.

Upon discovering that they have a similar taste in music, the two producers behind Das Carma teamed up. They entered the game in 2013 and since then, they have been very passionate and productive producers over the years. Productive indeed. If you look at the number of recordings in 6 years: 124. On the upcoming 125th, the two producers showcase different styles and in our eyes release an EP full of "proper house music“ like they used to say. However, we are happy to premiere their track "Liftoff Cloud 9" off of the forthcoming release.

The track is a solid deep house tune which has sparkling highs and sweet chords which give us a light and airy feeling, both overtop a deep as you like bassline. A common side effect of this effective formula is excessive foot tapping. In the end, all there is to say is that they've done it again and delivered us some proper house music.

If you already like Das Carma from previous releases, then this one won't disappoint you and you should not hesitate to do a full exploration of their new EP. Be sure to grab your copy as soon as possible here or at the usual haunts.

London-based Filipino House producer, Stullett has produced an official remix to Found It All, by the brilliant British-Filipino Soul artist, Apostol.  The original Soul track has had great success, thanks to it's smooth production and Apostol's incredible voice. The remix reimagines the track through a House lens, filling it with pounding drums, breaks, a smooth, deep bassline, live instrumentation and Apostol's powerful and soulful voice gliding on top. The track will be released on all platfroms on February 12th and is the first of many collaborations between the pair.

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Ramiro began his beginnings in music at the age of 8, going through instruments such as the guitar and piano, among others.

Some time later, Ramiro began to delight in artists of electronic music. Names like Hernan Cattaneo, Lee Burridge and Nick Warren were his main influences in this area. Which generated that in 2019, Ramiro began his career in the world of music production.

Their productions have warm nuances, solid grooves and organic melodies that convey a traveling and encouraging atmosphere.

Already in 2020, Ramiro has just released his first EP under the Argentine label FlugLab, and also, a very important release under the label of the legendary Nick Warren, The Soundgarden.

In a short time, his songs had the support of well-known artists, such as Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Tony McGuinness, Amonita, DSF, Baunder, among others.
