In our never ending quest to host the best labels on the planet we were always going to end up at theBasement Discos eventually. Enter Schoon Jr, head of the UK arm of the label who was born in France but now resides with us here in East London.

Julien is the UK ambassador for both theBasement Discos and sister label Miura which is known for a deeper shade of house music giving the nod to classic house undertones and 90s feeling rhythms. He has recently overseen label parties at JuJu & Number 90 here in London which has seen him joined by artists such as T Sounds, Even Funkier & Carly Foxx.

When we approached Julien, we asked him if he could rustle a mix up with tracks solely from the Valencia based label & he obliged. Grooveology 004 sees Schoon Jr emphatically blend some fine filtered feel good Disco & House from theBasement Discos (and a couple from Miura for good measure). Links below:

Grooveology 004 | Schoon Jr

Triple Grammy nominee and US vocalist Raheem DeVaughan joins Boddhi Satva for this Afrobeats tinged slice of RnB in a track that pulls in influences as diverse as DeVaughan's New Jersey and Washington DC upbringings and Boddhi Satva's pan-African, Ancestral Soul cultural sensibilities.

Taken from Boddhi Satva's collaborative Manifestation album, Finesse Me is a track that will grace the radio airwaves and the dancefloor with its wonderful vocal performance and lilting melody laid over tuff beats.

Raheem DeVaughan's own musical history comes from an impressive lineage as the son of Jazz and Classical cellist Abdul Wadud and cousin of Grammy winning Soul vocalist Chrisette Michele. His own successes can be heard via his prolific output of eight studio albums plus two more collaborative album releases with Apollo Soul and Bee Boy$oul respectively, his BET Awards and Grammy nominations.

Boddhi Satva's Manifestation project is an album that thrives on collaborations with other artists to create a soundscape of Black music styles and genres that blend to create a melange of genres. Finesse Me is a track that fuses Afrobeats with a traditional US RnB style to massively impressive effect.
