I'm really excited to bring you this remix album - I was lucky to get many of my favourite producers in the world involved in the project, and they have delivered an amazing range of music, it's a bit silly actually, how good this release is!

I was originally planning to separate it out into several releases, but when I brought all the remixes together I realised it could make an LP of it's own. I tried to order the tracks to provide some flow in this respect, from the beautiful ambience and downtempo sounds of Christian Löffler and Tom Hodge, to Rival Consoles brooding synth epic, into Vessels Aside broken melodic club track, Kimyan Law's beautifully detailed jungle break masterpiece, Patrice Baumel's massive techno remix, Ash Koosha's twisted electronica vision of Kathrin de Boerr, JoeFarr's apocalyptic darkroom disaster, John Tejada's melodic analogue beauties to wind down a little, and Hidden Orchestra's symmetrically structured huge ebb and flow remix of Symmetry to close. So much great work in there, I hope you have time to listen through and enjoy it as much as I do! And massive thanks to Christian, Tom, Ryan, Vessels, Nico, Pat, Ash, Joe, John and Hidden Orchestra for your work on this.

Originally from Istanbul, our guest this month, grew up with a love for music, especially music performance. At age 6, she joined the school choir and started singing. Since then, she performed on countless occasions in Turkey, the US, Brazil, Costa Rica and Paraguay. Tuğçe studied voice, jazz vocals, and West-African drumming with percussionist Milford Graves and singer &amp; songwriter Sheila Jordan among others.

Various listeners have remarked that her voice is “ethereal”, “something ancient, calling from the primeval darkness of fairytale.” Tugçe’s musical interests cross genres and continents. She has collaborated as a singer, songwriter, and co-producer with Paraguayan musician & producer Santi on three albums: Cíclico (2014), Songs for Another Day (2015), and El Regreso del Gallito (2016). She has also released four
singles: Istanbul’a (2017), Donde Va (2016), Sevda Çiçeği (2016) and Backflash (2015).

As the founder and curator of the Kybele Project, she develops opportunities for greater collaboration and broader inclusion of artists from around the world.

"The basic Idea for this Track came to me during my time in Colombia last year. I had an Artist Residency in a wonderful place in the middle of the Jungle of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta - an area which the indigenous people call the heart of the world - 

I was playing music every day and giving cacao ceremonies for the guests of the Resort and in my free Time i was producing  inspired by the lush, abundant,  colourful and peaceful Environment. One day i discovered Aris Art in the Internet and some of her Images and collages spoke to me on a deep Level. Inspired by the Magic of Aris Artwork, the Spirit of cacao and the cacophony of the colombian Jungle started Working on a Track and called the Project "Ari". I had a good Feeling about the Sketch but somehow i did not start with the Arrangement until i was back in Germany. Last Summer i was looking through some older projects and rediscovered the Project for this Track. So i felt inspired again to finish it and i am super happy with it. Its one of my favourite Tracks and when we played it live Maywa was always laughing like a child and i really loved the innocent and joyful energy of that and so we decided to record a Version with the laughing and thats the Version which is is now beeing released. Alaix Pulse wrote to me cause he listened to the Track in one of our Podcasts and He said he loves the Track and was offering to make a remix. Since i like his style and productions i send him the stems and He came up with this wonderful rework. You can feel the Love and Care he put into the Track in every bar. And i was surprised and deeply touched that he added a beautiful recording of German poem while being french and not understanding a single Word of it. The poem adds another layer of Beauty and depth to the original while maintaining the joyful peaceful and sweet vibe of the original.

And Im super happy to have this Track released on Echoes. Cause for me it has become a Home and Family the people working for Echoes are all wonderful Beings and dear Friends who put a lot of Passion, Love and Energy into their Work.

And their Events have been so magical, inspiring and nurturing for me that im happy to give sth back that reflects the beauty of the Spirit of Echoes from Venus."

Jamie's sound is deep and thick and not boxed in by any particular genre. Both original tracks on his debut Counter Culture EP charted under the Draft label, climbing the Beatport Minimal Charts. 

He continues to explore the endless possibilities of music production in the studio, with a continued drive and passion stemming from an early obsession of underground music growing up as a kid in England. Frequenting the LA underground music scene and beyond, Jamie continues to twist and shape around an ever evolving music scene with a versatile sound to offer interested ears.

A circle is endless. There is no beginning and no defined end. And whilst there has been a beginning for Jannowitz Records, there is no foreseeable end whatsoever. That is why the Circle compilation could not fit better to the current situation of the Cologne based label. For this particular Compilation. Jannowitz main freaks BOHO selected artists and some banger tracks to celebrate the staircase to heaven that we are climbing at this very moment. But let us talk you through Circle EP. Whatever kind of electronic underground music you like, you will find it here. There are chilled and laid back tracks like Alternated by SokooL. The Katermukke artists stays true to himself and produced a track that requires closed eyes and focus on all the little bits and details Alternated" contains. But then there is also Onyx by Floreano and Ren Cos, that is also chill with clicking sounds that will send you to the land of dreams and mysteries. James Mac & Vall (Toi Et Moi) worked together with singer Julienne and made a track that is driven by deep synth grooves and - of course - the very sexy vocals. Other artists like Heinrich Heine head rather towards Mars or Jupiter with transcending synthies. The Hamburg based duo created the contemporary track Shapeshift that is much harder than some of the other Circle tracks but still manages to reach that unearthly level of production. Talking abut contemporary: Jannowitz Records favourite Oliver Deuering (Five Days) contributes a contemporary atmospheric but at the same time forward stomping track that seems to reinterpret everything you've heard over the past few years regarding techno and house music. Another genre reinterpretation is offered by Daven Teers. His track Palais is led by a progressive acid theme that is not only state of the art right now but also sound like nothing you have ever heard before. Less progressive but rather minimal is the amazing house tool La Pachanga by Vazik who is an old face in the label's catalogue. Together with BOHO and Paul Feris he released Vice Versa last year that was an immediate hit back then. But back to Circle: US underground DJ Eric Louis from New York contributes even two tracks (West Side Highway and Doorway To The Days) that contain exciting build ups, distorted patterns and hi-hats that give both tracks a dark and evil touch. The harder side of Circle compilation is also shown by JOREK (Get One Chance) or Pure Ibiza Radio legend Frankye Love together with Stephan Seddel (Redux). The last brain squeezer is produced by KRBO, a recent Jannowitz discovery whose track Mermaid Song was immediately selected by BOHO. Just like the rest of the whole Compilation - it just fits the label perfectly. Whether thats minimal, house, techno, acid - if it has that particular production value and makes you dance, it's Jannowitz Records worthy.

There is something called Asthu. Imagine it like a Casper flying next to you. It's there all around us. It's like the Indian version of guardian Angel. However, the difference is the Asthu is slightly laid back but disciplined. And it doesn't have a judgmental ability of its own. Rather, it respects you so much that it leaves the job to you and doesn't question. It won't choose for you. It won't know whether you mean it or not. Sometimes you say things you don't mean but it will make it come true. E.g. You wonder what if someone steals your footwear from outside temple, Asthu will bring the attention of a thief to your footwear and it will be gone. Sometimes it will miss listening to you. So when you say something followed by tathastu, it means you have thought so much about what you are saying and calling the attention of Asthu to work along with you to make it come true. So, always be mindful of what you think and say. The literal meaning in English is ‘So be it' or 'apadiye aagatum' or 'apadiagapatathu' in Tamil.
