since i've been struggling to release bigger tracks, i thought i'd take some time to work on something smaller for a change.

self-confidence is something i struggle with a lot, and that definitely contributes as to why i take so long on bigger projects - i finished this today out of frustration for not being able to work on something else that's far more important, so in a way it's a song made from emotional strain, and a want for stress relief.

in a way, i feel calm in this little self-contained place where i know i can create something that i can be proud of, without thousands of eyes watching my every move during the process.
this feeling helped bring forth both "wonder" and "halcyon", which is once again inspired by minecraft's soundtrack, which is one of my all time favourites.

beneath the waves is a world mostly undiscovered, it teeths with a huge bounty of life and colour - it's mesmerising. though, these shores are more shallow than i expected, but these deep gashes in the ocean floor seem to grant entry to caverns far deeper below.. i hope i can handle the pressure.

mental health wise i wish i could say i was fine, but i could feel so much better for someone who just finished a project that was in the works for 18 months.

I originally started this track back in August, way before I went on vacation; was having a depressive episode, so this is basically my auditory representation of that emotion - what could be beautiful and calm melodies is taken up by oppressive, vast noise and dissonant chords.

in the mere 10 days this was worked on, this is possibly the most emotionally charged song in the album - the end of the album deserves a song made at the end of an era. 

how i see this is a song representative of new horizons, freedom, yet reminiscence on good past times. i don't know how to describe it other than that, and i hope this captured it well.
