It’s been nine years since I lost my best friend in a car accident, and “Time” was born out of a quiet, overwhelming moment that caught me completely off guard.

I was cleaning out a closet one evening when I stumbled upon old, forgotten photos — little fragments of a friendship that once felt like it would last forever. But what hit me hardest wasn’t just the memories themselves, it was the fact that so many of them had already started to fade. I felt crushed by guilt, like letting them slip away was a kind of betrayal. And I knew I had to process that somehow, and for me, music has always been the only way.

The spark for “Time” came unexpectedly. I was walking through HMV in London when Harry Styles’ “Sign of the Times” started playing. My song doesn’t sound like his, but something in that moment : the weight of the melody, the atmosphere, it stayed with me. Later that night, just before a Sigur Rós concert, the shape of “Time” came rushing in, and I wrote the core of the song in under three minutes. It just… happened.

With sweeping cinematic arrangements, soulful R&B undertones, and an intimate vocal delivery, “Time” is about the fragile way we hold on to our memories. It’s about how time can be both a soft comfort and a cruel eraser.
