Keeping this warm this winter, Seb Zito’s Seven Dials Records imprint drops the hot new Dubaholics EP from Ozzie Guven 

Ozzie Guven is fast becoming a key figure in the roaring UK underground dance scene. It has seen Ozzie already land 2 Beatport Number One Releases, with tracks signed to highly revered labels: Whippin, Reecords, BeeYou, Pitch, Surge, Rendr, Habits, Whoyostro, Hungarian Hot Wax & more. 

His debut release on Zito’s Seven Dials imprint see’s Guven deliver a delectable 3 tracker of club ready music, two minimal deep tech tracks and a third track in a breakbeat garage flavour. 

The first and title track on the EP is ‘Dubaholics’. As the name suggests, this track has a strong feel of dub behind its well executed deep minimal tech beats which combined with garage flavours that Zito’s imprint is well known for. This is a slick number combining various genres all in one killer dance floor track. 
Next up is ‘Brass Disk’ with its skipping hi’s and low slung sub bass, this delivers a more traditional minimal deep tech track, showing Guven’s talents from producing tracks across genres, whilst using sounds from various genres yet with a continuity to them that they sound like they belong together.

PIV052 comes from the studio of Cologne-based artist Moglis. True classic elements are present in this package, with Back To The Funk ready to move any dancefloor. Gimme pushes a jacked-up groove with beautiful vocal cuts and gets a deep dub treatment from Okain on the remix. Finally, Stuck On You delivers those dreamy melodies, making this dynamic EP another one you can't afford to miss.

Drag & Drop releases a fantastic three-tracker on the TBX Limited imprint, showcasing their unique minimal aesthetic and production skills. The title track, called 'Envy' dives us into deeper sensations having a strong drum rythm wich is filled with bouncy bass and atmospheric synths. Next up comes 'Funkaholic' wich is a logic continuation of the ep. The track brigs in firm deep vibrations of the Drag & Drop duo delivering an club ready track. The last but not least is 'Nebula' that continues in roughly same style. The track is filled up with deep stabs and atmospheres that design strenghth around the beat and give a chance to the synths to stand out. That combination builds up mind-banding groove and puts the listener into transpersonal experience. Enjoy!

Premiere: Drag & Drop - Funkaholic [TBX Limited]

Black Seven Music returns with the second edition of their yearly 'Winter VA' series, comprising eight freshly squeezed dancefloor rollers.

Yugo Sanchez's kicks off the release with 'Dominic', bringing a deepened approach, emphasising on groove and movement from the outset. Endless layers of rattling percussion combine with punchy drum work, rumbling bass notes and a catchy vocal hook to carve out a certified vibe-builder.

Funk Off & Ender Royers are next with 'Ridin', a stripped-back record with a sophisticated persona and loads of individual appeal. Building around cleancut drums and a catchy bassline melody, its pitched down soulful vocal licks add even more flavour to this standout record.

Mr. Nuñez's 'Chipper' kicks things back up a notch with plenty of punch and flair. Endless layers of percussion collide with heavyset kicks and a driving sub-bass melody as they slice through creative fills and carefully-placed breaks with impressive effect from start to finish.

Simon Salazar comes next with 'Libertador', adding more weight to the affair through emphatic rhythms and pulsating bass tones. An energetic flurry of groove and elegance from the off, its ebb and flow is complemented with a signature latino vocal that brings the track alive.

J.Wheel's 'Samba' keeps the release firing with gritty frequencies and thumping beats. Its standout tribal vocal carries you throughout the mix through a sea of glitchy fills and roughened percussion as it glides effortlessly through an explicitly danceable journey.

S.L.M.D comes next with 'Slow', serving bumpy grooves from the very start. A combination of chunky drums and swinging sub-bass push the track forwards through several breaks and builds complemented by a catchy vocal hook and playful percussion that bring its head-bopping character to life.

Foxy closes the release with 'What You Need', offering up a racy finish to the compilation. Uptempo beats and riveting percussive swing build the base of the track alongside the addition of cleverly placed vocal chops, atmospheric FX and subtle melodic elements. This one is a real terrace groover, there's no mistaking.

Simon Salazar - Libertador [Preview]

Six years after delivering his debut album - a digital-only affair called TruSkool - Demuir has finally got round to recording a follow-up. The Toronto native's brand of house is chunky, groovy, deep and funky, taking cues not only from previous collaborators such as DJ Sneak, but also those of his contemporaries that make great use of dusty samples and killer drum programming. As a result, Visions manages to work both as a collection of club-focused cuts and an album you can listen to repeatedly from start to finish. Our picks of a pleasingly strong bunch include the fluid, disco-tinged, Hipnotic-sampling brilliance of 'Mind, Body & Soul Call Me', TUSH hook-up 'Skylar' (a superb slab of gospel-tinged soulful house) and the delicious Fred P collaboration 'Dream (Part II)'.
