Jackies Music House Session #256 - "Ross Whisper"

Ross Whisper:
Having established himself as a full-time gigging DJ for several years, Ross Wilson is now recording under the alias 'Ross Whisper' to produce uplifting House Music that fuses a nostalgic disco sound with contemporary grooves, beats and melodies.
Ross was born in Bristol with a very rare condition that almost cost him his life at the age of four when he stopped breathing. A police escort to Great Ormond St Hospital in London for an emergency tracheostomy operation saved him from dying, but left him with permanently damaged vocal cords and a lifelong case of aphonia. Deciding to turn something negative into a positive, the name Ross Whisper came about after a lifetime of strangers asking him “why are you whispering?”.
Embarking on his music production journey towards the end of 2024, Ross is now hard at work in the studio cooking up future dance floor classics, and road-testing them in his club sets across the country each weekend.

Hotline HQ founder, DJ and producer Alan Dixon remixes ‘You’re The One For Me’ from Detroit trio Dames Brown on Defected. Previous hits across the London label from Dames Brown include ‘Glory’ with Waajeed with remixes by Floorplan and Kelly G.,  ‘Sweat’ with Melvo Baptiste plus a remix from Snips, a collaboration with Eddie Fowlkes ‘Do It’ remixed by Zach Witness, and ‘What Would You Do?’ with Andrés and the late Amp Fiddler - then remixed by Louie Vega & Josh Milan as Two Soul Fusion and Folamour. In 2025, the trio were then featured on Ben Westbeech’s highly anticipated Glitterbox LP Everything Is Within You, demonstrating their soulful artistry and love of collaboration. Now their powerful, vocal-led sound is reimagined by Alan Dixon, an artist also known to the London label for club-ready releases on sister label Glitterbox, including 2025’s ‘Infinity’ with Infinity Ink.
