Due to the production capacity of its author, it is worthy of our Composers series. But our guest's willingness to also express himself with an exquisite unreleased selection of some of his professional compatriots in addition to his own, was as intriguing as the work turned out to be.

The Art of Staffan Linzatti, taking an exclusive position among our series, is almost a 'memoir with tiny touches'. As a result, a selective, advanced, addictive, and effective Mix.

Starts beatless dropy and bleepy on the intro tune, going subtly into the route organically, with asymmetrical streaks and textures.
Cosmic trails tinkle with the captivating groove of the dancehall, the bass, the complex rhythms, and the dances begin. Tension gives way to the immersive tempo, refined and attractive, while the bewitching background and repeating beeps will perform the main scene.

Dropping clues throughout the story allows the listener to generate their theories about the solution to the mystery, but taking care of the balance between being too obvious or too tricky, keeping them in sonic uncertainty until the closing.

Definitely, an authentic fantasy that will enchant you, just as it has been to introduce you to this master of our sci-fi flagship.

▸ Staffan is a native to Sweden. His drive towards obliterating boundaries and developing new forms and structures in sound is not only a way for him to express his creativity but also encourages and facilitates a natural evolution artistically. Staffan can conjure inspiration from, what seems to be anything that is constructed with the creative minds of other people. Together with his brother Mathias, he runs the record label Searchlights Records. A label dedicated to the exploration and understanding of how we observe occurring events. How we remember them, the movements they spark, how we communicate these findings and ultimately how they may change us and become part of our being.

For MNMT 385 Polish legend @michalwolski presents us with a very special hybrid mix. Known for his deep, richly detailed music this voyage features four track mixing and live looping techniques to deliver something truly mind-blowing. 

Michal is an acclaimed DJ, live act & producer, with releases on legendary labels such Semantica, Eerie Rec, Nonplus, Silent Season, Kynant and many more as well as his own Minicromusic Rec.

On his approach to the hybrid mix Michal said:

“The entire recording was made in Ableton Live. In addition to the tracks that make up the elements of the podcast, you can also hear a whole range of sound events that are brought to life through looping, as well as inducing feedback-loops. Narrating in this way allows me not only to enjoy the music itself - tracks that have caught my attention, whose energy I would like to share - but also to explore regions that are only possible to visit >in this very moment<, during the mix. They can't be planned, they can't be engineered - feedbacks tend to bring transformations having at their source, what is to be given. 

It's a deeply delicate technique - it can be smooth or extremely aggressive, it's all about being one with the sound and reacting to events at the exact moment and to the exact degree. A mix carried out with four tracks mixed live brings a whole range of possibilities - not only in terms of DJ techniques, but also strictly in terms of production, primarily with effects work at the forefront. This kind of playing sparks my imagination limitlessly.”

Specializing in techno live performances, Peryl is constantly on the lookout for new sounds. Besides different frequencies, cables and transitions, he tries to express himself through his live improvisation in the clubs. Often this leads to completely new soundscapes and offers the listener an unpredictable vibe.

We can't get over how much we enjoyed Deluka's set in our favorite living room. 
Focused on pulsating beats and hypnotic patterns, he kept the dance floor going from the first track till the very last.

My next guest on Yax Invites is Shelley, a DJ from Bielefeld, Germany.

Shelley turned her passion for electronic music into a profession in 2019. Electronic sounds have accompanied her since childhood, and she found inspiration in the local club scene. Through long nights and countless sonic journeys, she discovered the fascination of DJing and decided to use her listening experience to create her own sets.

Driven by hypnotic and impulsive rhythms, combined with dark and dissociative atmospheres she developed through the years her own style. Today, with precise attention to detail and a very delicate touch.

It didn't take long for her style to be recognized, and she was able to create impressive sets. Also Eric Cloutier invited her to play her first gig at Tresor in Berlin where she could prove her skills in front of a decent crowd. Shelley is sure to continue creating influential sets and mesmerizing audiences.

Taaris is a French DJ and producer as well as co-founder and DA of the Native Rhythm collective. Her musical craft is to interweave hypnotic techno tunes into a shamanic rhythmic process. In a vision where textures are the DNA of animals, plants and humans, Taaris' music revitalises ancient techniques to explore and connect with all living beings. Her music marks the return to the groovy patterns used by indigenous tribes and cultures for many centuries.

With her fast-paced rhythms, Taaris manages to transform modern techno into an archaic dance feeling that speaks to you on a deeper level. Get hypnotised by her incredible mix, whose power never lets up and catapults you into a moment of eternity through the never-ending percussion-driven loops!
