THE STORY:  In 1980 I was carpooling to work in a van driven by a guy who loved country music.  That's all I heard going to and coming home from work.  But I heard the simplicity in this music and I kinda liked it.  So I decided to write a "country music" song.  A common theme I heard in country music was a love gone either right wrong.  I can write that.  So I did.
