Any artist is welcome to send us a track via freshonthenet.co.uk anytime between Monday lunchtime and Wednesday evening (or when we receive 200 submissions, whichever is sooner) - and all our moderators, including Tom Robinson, will listen to every track. If a track you submitted does not appear in this list, it’s probably because another of your tracks appeared in our Fresh Faves or on the BBC Music Introducing Mixtape during the last three months — we ask that artists featured on either wait three months before resubmitting to give others a chance. 

We also don’t accept short previews or SoundCloud Go tracks that can only be heard as 30 second previews, and tracks made private after submission, which cannot be included in playlists. You will be able to resubmit the track in future. Tracks (and remixes of tracks) that have been previously submitted, and tracks from banned artists will also be removed.

"Reaching for the Song" is the first debut release of mine as a solo artist. The song itself is moving, personal, engaging and and described also as "uplifting' by some. It is open to interpretation with its meaning -as are any songs in my opinion as an artist and listener/fan of music generally - hoping to reach to listerners who connect with the notion that sometimes we have good intentions, try our hardest at something and yet are "falling" or feel we are failing despite our big heart's intentions.

Ethiopia

We’re Chasing Shadows, a North Wales based indie rock band.  We formed in 2015, and since then have built up an excellent reputation across our local area. We’ve released four EP’s so far, played gigs across the UK in venues small and large, received radio play across the globe and loads of great reviews of our music on blogs, from UK based to ones in Germany and Brazil.

We were really grateful to be supported by BBC Wales Horizons/Gorwelion Launchpad fund, who awarded us a grant to support the recording of our fifth EP in 2019. To support that we have played a number of gigs to promote our new music, including FOCUS Wales, HMV, loads of local venues and there’s more to come.

The feedback we’ve had from our gigs so far has been great, and the comments we’ve had about our music so far have been amazing. We’re back in the studio in March with more new music on the way, building up on the momentum we have built so far, with our aim of getting our music out to as many people as possible, and gigging in as many places as we can.
