Im Sommer 2015 auf Ibiza fragte Jo.Ke, der in dieser Nacht mit Feathered Sun spielte, @mommusic, ob er „How Strange“ kenne. Luis Couñago Luque, so der bürgerliche Name von MoM, griff zu den Kopfhörern und hörte sich die Nummer an: „Ich war total vom Sound der Flöten begeistert.“ Also nahm er sich der Nummer an, um einen Remix nach seinen Vorstellungen zu basteln. „Ich sprach mit meinem Freund ANuT (@soul-36), und wir begannen, mit dem Track herumzuhantieren." (...) Mit der Hilfe von @vikenarman und seinem Imprint @denature-records erscheint der Remix nun als freier Download bei trndmsk.

Nazca Records is back, and it seems like they are flying on a magic carpet to deliver this one to the listeners. Hraach is a well-known member of the Nazca family; his work has enchanted our listeners on many occasions. We proudly present to you this three-track EP that juggles different approaches suitable for different moments within an electronic music set. 
 
This new release fuels the motivation of the Viracochas, beings of a different world, and the Nazcas, life and art lovers, to embark on an exciting trip towards a much oriental sound. While Hraach knitted the two tracks, ‘Empty Space’ and ‘Monkey Minds’, Los Suruba & Landikhan, Wild Dark, Alvaro Suarez, the sidekicks of this melodic journey, remixed and delivered them to the world.

 Landikhan and Los Suruba give their version a more Sci-Fi Investigation approach. How do they do that? Well, with a lot of imagination we can tell you that. Their remix is overflowing with soaring leads that find their place between sublime basslines. The differences between the tracks are easy to spot. While Wild Dark crafted the perfect opening track, Alvaro Suarez chose a contrast between an echoed violin and a futuristic synth. Curious?

The entire EP will make you get lost within your dance moves.

https://soundcloud.com/ramon-tapia was born and raised in Holland, with a Dutch mother and Chilean father his upbringing had an eclectic mix of cultures which in turn developed and influences his decision to follow his father’s footsteps and become a musician.
During his teenage years, he remembers the tales which sparked his imagination about dance music from his older sisters as they returned from a night out. During this time, he was listening to the early pioneers of Detroit techno and legends such as Michael Jackson, Quincy Jones, Kraftwerk and Front 242. But his interest in techno soon developed after many nights out, and he later decided to move to Belgium’s capital, Antwerp – originally to study as a jewelry and diamond cutter but he had a part time job in a record store which eventually decided where he wanted to take his career.
Self‑taught, he slowly learnt how to produce tracks solo, where initially he mainly produced a tougher sounding techno. But he found his resurgence in the late 2000’s, where Ramon was signed to labels including Herzblut, Craft and Yellow Tail, forging a new school techno sound that blended the slower, sexier sounds of the contemporary vibe he has been schooled on over the last decade.
In 2010, he selected a number of tracks to be featured on New York’s legendary Strictly Rhythm label with the “Strictly Rhythms Vol 6” compilation. Featured a selection of artists including Ramon himself, this is where he really catapulted his name into the lime light and was the biggest turning point of his career.
Soon thereafter the techno scene followed suit and his work was snapped up by 2000 And One’s label Remote Area, 100% Pure, Schinedoe’s Intacto, Secret Cinema’s label GEM Records and Tiga’s Turbo.
This marked just the beginning of a long line of releases including a selection of EP’s and remixes to date which have come in the form of some amazingly talented and varied artists including Paul Weller, Armand Van Helden, Nic Fanciulli, Marc Romboy, Monika Kruse, Mauro Picotto, DJ Sneak and Umek.
With a nice collection of releases on some of the best labels, in 2012 Ramon decided to start his very own imprint with “Say, What” Recordings
With the aim on proper dancefloor techno 2018 started out with his “Manipulate ” EP on Adam Beyer’s Truesoul , followed by his debut on Dense & Pika’s Kneaded Pains with “Bang The Box ”. Also His Groove Five Release on SayWhat and his highly acclaimed “Ex Tee Cee” release on Pig and Dan’s Elevate made high scores in that year 2019 has so far been one of the strongest years for Ramon, with releases on Adam Beyer’s Drumcode , Terminal M , Suara and playing on big festivals like Tomorrowland , Drumcode Festival and more.

Veteran Chicago House pioneer Boo Williams delivers stand out genre melding EP on Italian record label, NICEPEOPLE. The three track EP meanders through elements of house and techno with real depth. This is the “LOL” EP, landing January 2021 on vinyl, and you can happily say this one fully lives up to its expectations. 

The title track “LOL” chugs along with pure energy of sounds of the past, twisting beeps and bleeps whirring throughout. The shuffling drums make this one, brushing by as they continue to drive the opener. The clue is in the title here as Williams uses trippy samples of laughter which flash in and out throughout the duration. 

Next on the agenda is “Backwards Run”, a blissful deep and emotive encounter with Boo doing what he does best. Trickling synths and pads meander around a clean cut house arrangement, voices circle around the belly of the track making this another hypnotic outing. 


Elastic bass creates a sense of urgency in “Bangin Out”, the last of the EP which takes up the whole of the B-side. A real abrupt and direct track, the kind that leaves the crowd in a trance when utilised in the right moment, creating suspense in the club room before elevating to the next track. A tinge of acid and intelligent key arrangement enforcing more masterpiece material. 

This is Boo Williams at his finest once more, landing on a label that is not afraid to push a variety of sounds as long as the consistent quality is there. A real nod to sounds of the past, no egos in sight, just plain and simple effective dance floor sounds from one of the heroes of this vibe.
