It’s not often one encounters an imagination with the depth and prolificacy of Jacob Collier’s. The London-based 28-year-old is dubbed by many as one of the most innovative musicians of his generation. In 2012, Jacob's self-made YouTube videos achieved legendary status in the music world, attracting the praise of such luminaries as Herbie Hancock, David Crosby, Steve Vai, and Quincy Jones, who manages Jacob to this day. Jacob’s debut album, In My Room, crafted entirely in his room at home, went on to win two GRAMMY's. His success has led to musical collaborators and fans including the likes of Coldplay, John Mayer, Ty Dolla $ign, Tori Kelly, Daniel Caesar, SZA, Charlie Puth, Jessie Reyez, T-Pain, and Lizzo (to name a few).   In January of 2018, Jacob began designing and creating a recording project on an unprecedented scale – a quadruple album called DJESSE: 50 songs, divided between four volumes, with each operating within a separate musical universe of sound, style and genre. Scattered across the four volumes are 30+ collaborators from across every facet of the music world. Djesse Volumes 1, 2, & 3 have earned him a GRAMMY each, affirming that Jacob is the first British artist to win a Grammy for each of his first four albums.

Daniel Milnor is currently “Creative Evangelist” for Blurb, Inc. the world’s premiere print-on-demand publisher. He splits his time between the smog-choked arteries of Southern California and the spiritual landscape of New Mexico.

Milnor is a former newspaper, magazine and commercial photographer who now works primarily on long-term projects. His work has taken him from the rural corners of the United States to Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America.

He has taught at Art Center College of Design, Academy of Art University, The Santa Fe Photographic Workshops, The Julia Dean Workshops and the Photo Experience Workshops.

An early adopter of select technologies such as print-on-demand books and magazines, Milnor has created and published over one hundred unique titles, including the recently released “Manifesto Magazine,” which showcases the world’s best documentary photography.

Milnor’s writing and photography has been featured in Camera Arts Magazine, Black and White Magazine, Life Magazine, Zone Zero, Flash Flood, Finite Photo, Resolve, Hasselblad Gallery as well as many others.

Additionally, Milnor is the author the blog Smogranch which allows him to speak his mind, post his mother’s poetry and bring together like-minded people around the globe.

He is currently working on a series of classic photo-essays which revolve around Blurb users who are living artistic, creative lives.
His work is in the collections of The Los Angeles County Museum of Art, The George Eastman House and The Santa Barbara Museum of Art.

Inner Ocean Records is a platform and collective for emerging artists to release music and visual art. Based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, the label was conceptualized in 2012 as a vehicle for artists to have their music heard and seen, to build a community of passionate people.  We designed the label to be what we would have loved to have as artists ourselves, redefining the rules in an ebb and flow to the changing landscape of music. We have made a conscious commitment to be transparent, adaptable and always for the people.

We are a label for artists, by artists. 

We’ve built the backbone of this label around great sound and feeling; laid back, honest and forever chill. We have released a lot of different sounds; Ambient, Lofi Hip Hop, RnB, Modern Funk, Future Soul and Indie. Since our inception, we have prioritized natural evolution and organic growth in the music – we value the process and accept change.  Expect the unexpected; we want to delightfully surprise you;)
