Melodic synths and modern beats with pianos and strings mark this third release from electronic artist Cheddr. Elements of ambient electronic music, chillwave, or even deep house vibes. But acoustic instruments atypical of the "Synth" genres mixed with luscious (or glitched out!) synths brings a fresh but classic approach to the instrumental electronic music scene. 

Tracks include the chill electronica songs "The Winding Road", "Falling into you", "Reach In", and "You'll See", as well "Unification Theory" and "Understory" featuring sequenced solo piano and strings. The sampled vocal manipulations in "Our Hearts are Beating Together" and "Vapors" are hypnogogic, approaching vaporwave. The songs on this album are varied, but belong thematically together appealing to Synthwave fans or fans of any kind of indie or electronic music.

Cheddr returns with a synthwave, sci-fi, and cyberpunk inspired album with melodic synths and keys with modern beats and spacey ambient riffs. 

Track include the electro-rock styled Massive Dark Corona, From Up Above and Colony, synthy house styled Spirit of 2076, Extravehicular, and Orbit and Engage. Tonight's the Night and Acid Clouds have complex acid basslines and show off a variety of influences and a blending of genre's. Wicked glow is simply an ambient Synthwave anthem. 

This is the culmination of a three album set on a theme of human trajectory, optimism, and adaptability, from the piano driven beats of Three Sheets to the Wind, to the swirling symphonic ambient and bold beats in For the Skies. Five Times the stars firmly roots the quirky electronic sounds that punctuated the previous two albums in the retro-future where they comfortably belong.

SCENES is my first Retrowave album, and a sort of "greatest hits" of all my artistic influences: movies, TV series, cartoons, videogames, everything is there. The massive use of synths and LINN Drum samples guarantees the 80s throwback, but my love for the electric guitar phrasing lead me towards some rock episodes, expecially in "Neon Blades". SCENES may have a Retrowave style, but I think this album is for everyone, and I hope you will find yourself in some of these micro scenes.
