Twisted Yogi gets his kicks from fusing different genres from Trance to Jazz with plenty of Drum & Bass and Dubstep thrown in. His trademark is his unique use of ethnic samples and instruments, interwoven with phat, kick in the groin, bass and heavy drums. 

"I chose the project name Twisted Yogi because I felt this was appropriate for what I am trying to achieve - i.e searching for answers, finding inner peace, exploring my potential, whatever you want to call it - through my music, while inviting others to share in my musical insights. Also because the path of a yogi is mainly a solitary one, as are my own personal exploits with this art-form. Oh yeah, and my music's pretty twisted"

 He also likes to bring a touch of spirituality into his music, which is most evident in his debut album (unreleased)'A Shamanic Voyage Through Mind Bending Bass' (the title speaks for itself!) and 'Who Is This I' featuring the mesmerizing voice of the late Indian philosopher Krishnamurti. But above all his music makes people want to shake their asses!

Little Trouble Kids is a herky jerky minimalistic noisepop band, armed with nothing more than a homemade stompbox, two shrieky voices and an acoustic but totally overdriven guitar.

In a rowdy bar in Antwerp LTK was discovered by Millionaire-frontman Tim Vanhamel, who dragged them to the dEUS-owned Vantage Point Studio (actually, without dEUS knowing about this…) and produced their debut album ‘LITTLE TROUBLE KIDS’. In one day eight tracks were slammed on tape, adding just a few wacko overdubs (flute, computer voices, analog synthesizer). At a later date three additional tracks were recorded. Pascal Deweze, together with Vanhamel, mixed the album… also on that very same day! It remains up to now unclear whether LTK thus broke Led Zeppelin’s record (36 hours!) for fastest recorded debut album ever…

LTK’s debut was released early March 2010: the album, as it was recorded, rushes by like a speed train and has a highly unique sound and a distinct punky atmosphere. First single ‘90’s Dream’, accompanied by a DIY-stop motion videoclip, was immediately picked up by national radio station Studio Brussel. ‘LITTLE TROUBLE KIDS’ was widely praised, i.a. by Belgian legend Arno who named it his favorite album of the year.

But the ball was now just beginning to roll… LTK pretty soon became noticed in the club/festival scene in the Lowlands, and a huge number of gigs followed: while keeping their daytime jobs they played a whopping 150 shows in two years’ time! Highlights included: touring with Tim Vanhamel and his ad interim band Eat Lions, supporting Triggerfinger on a Belgian mini-tour, proudly sharing the stage with Ty Segall & Thee Oh Sees, and travelling to the infamous London-based venue The Garage at the personal invitation of punk legends The Undertones (Teenage Kicks, yeah!).

In the meantime Micha Volders (El Guapo Stuntteam, Vermin Twins) took the band under his wings and in February 2012 ‘ADVENTURELAND’ was released, an album that would capture the fierce and unrelenting live energy of the duo. The recipe remained unchanged, but Volders made LTK sound bigger and bolder. How audacious ‘ADVENTURELAND’ might sound, the album was still very well received in the Belgian mainstream press (Humo, De Standaard) and daring singles like ‘Feed on Love’ and ‘Straight A’s were again eagerly picked up by Studio Brussel.

This time LTK also set their heart on the abroad: dEUS, enamored by the new album, took them on a amazing sold-out tour through Central-Europe and the band gained foothold in France where they are welcome guests to acclaimed clubs, festivals and showcase festivals (Transmusicales).

2014 marks a new chapter for the band: the trusty old stompbox is thrown overboard and a new band member is welcomed to expand the characteristic LTK-sound on their third album ‘HAUNTED HEARTS’ (release March 2014).

‘Haunted Hearts’ is a big push forward for the infamous noisepop sweethearts, but they’re still keeping it simple – real simple! – and close to home – literally! – for their first self-produced release: the album was recorded on an idiot-proof 16-track in just three days… in LTK’s own living room!

‘Haunted Hearts’ is fragile, intense, raw, honest and grand: a nightly voodoo-escapade, with rhythms referencing These New Puritans, The Birthday Party and even hiphop! With their haunted hearts on their sleeves, it’s the most personal statement from the band to date…
