Greg James is an entrepreneur, musician, engineer, songwriter and avid gamer who’s self made success has been an example as well as a reflection of what can be achieved no matter our circumstances in life. Greg’s story is one of resilience, determination, drive and self maturation combined with faith, hope and integrity. Greg’s music shares his life’s journey with colorful storytelling, sincere melodies, gritty passion and a unique unreplicated sound that captures the attention of the listener and captivate the hearts of many.
 
Greg James is a native of Pontiac, Michigan; a neighboring city of Detroit, Michigan. He is the oldest of six brothers and sisters; who at a tender age was left with the responsibility of caring for them. Abandoned by his mother at fourteen and estranged from his father from birth; Greg took to the streets to make money, find security and develop family bonds. It was there where Greg learned and developed his way of thinking, lifestyle and family ties.
 
Greg James began his introduction to music at the age of 21 years old. Not knowing he was musically inclined by blood, Greg began to create with the members of his current collective TRF. It was not until years later that he would discover his biological father was a guitarist and his brother was an international and award winning Hip Hop artist and entrepreneur. His brother, Derek Minor took Greg in and began mentoring him in many aspects of life, faith, family and music. Together they worked on projects such as; Alright, Alright with Derek Minor, Canon and Byron Juane as well as songwrite, produce and engineer for other artists such as; Byron Juane, Canon, and Aaron Cole. With his brother by his side and his collective family ties from Pontiac, MI, TRF, Greg would soon begin a process that would mark the beginning of a new chapter in all of their lives. Together the members of TRF which consist of, Greg,Gallarii, Mic, Augxst, Jeremiah, Will and Ed built a recording studio and through trial and error crafted the soundtracks to their lives and engineered cutting edge styles and sounds like nothing else currently on the market.
 
Greg James is inspired by Nipsey Hussle.  He strives to bring meaning to the purpose of the pain and hope to his listeners. His melodies enchant the pallet while his lyrics provoke the soul with raw truth and depth that pierce the heart with a spectrum of emotion. Greg James has been quoted to say that he considers much of his music to be considered Hip Hop’s version of “bleed music”. Many of the stories he shares were realities that take us into a world filled with fear, pain, violence and survival as he projects the voices of the forgotten, disadvantaged and broken. Greg James hopes his music will speak to his generation about the idea of a better way of life. He looks forward to sharing knowledge with the youth about how to make it out of the streets. Faith in God, family, loyalty and pursuing one's dreams are the core principles on which he bases his life on and off the stage.

Just been making music for a while now figured why not keep doing something you love even if it goes unnoticed.
