My remake I made in Ableton Live of [Chainsmokers - Roses.] Challenge was to make this track nearly 100% identical to the original version to every last detail, with only the use of the raw studio vocals to really test my production skills. Short etude, slap bass with sub bass below, fretless bass edited in for big slides, electric piano with heavy use of tensions, subtle beat box in background was the first track, everything else built from that.

'Three Character Primer' is translated from the name of a Chinese traditional culture called '三字经‘. It's Chen's first new shot combining Chinese styles with Hip-hop and EDM. The song praises the great Chinese histories and development, from Pan Gu creating the world to the rise of Chinese Hip-hop these years, and it truly expresses love and admiration towards the country and tries to share the best of it with the world.
