Die album is tussen Langebaan en Melkbosstrand opgeneem by Cheree en Ridgway se studios, en Cheree het ‘n handvol uitgesoekte plaaslike Weskus musikante gekry om op die album te speel. Sy en Ridgway het al die verwerkings en produksie behartig, en beide het nuwe, oorspronklike liedjies vir die projek geskryf.

Cheree se vocals en die ambient-country instrumentasie en arrangement is welig en ook minimalis; teatraal en eerlik. 

LESSE & LULLABIES is ‘n baie spesiale en besonderse album. Cheree se diepste en innigste album tot dusver – en haar heel beste!

Cheree is South Africa's original Country Girl. Winning numerous awards and receiving 2 South African Music Award Nominations for her last two commercial releases just goes to show that Cheree is here to stay! 

She lives with her husband, Wynand Strydom, in Langebaan on the West Coast of South Africa. Wynand is also a singer in the Afrikaans music industry and they also make music together! They are the proud parents of two country girls, Taylor-Hope and Bella-Joy. 

Life is good for this 30-something mother and singer and she continues to enjoy a healthy career with shows booked across the entire South Africa! "Travelling hillbillies" is the term she uses to describe her and Wynand's lives on the open road. 

Music continues to inspire her and she approaches everything in her life with the same positive and optimistic attitude.
