The founder of the band, Martin, who has played in several less or more known bands like:

- The M.a.R.S. and Venus Solution (playing guitar and bass and doing vocals and backing vocals depending on the song);
- Zomotta (playing bass and backing vocals);
- and Salad Bar (playing guitar and vocals).

Started the band in 2011 with the help of JW (who Martin met while playing in another band Hecking (a cover-band)) and Evo.

Evo formerly played in these bands:
- Shagmoth, with Maaike Kleijn, Ralph, Ton, Jesse
- Hevea, with Wasco, Ed, Milo, Marc, Gary
- Wash, with Sybrand, Randolph, Gary, David, Saskia
- Evelyn & the Wolf, with Jan, Jonika Aalders, Jeroen
- Coffin Beat, With Mila & Geert
- Foghorns, also known as HERT, with Riëtte Wanders, Thom van der Doef, Hans G.
And the jamsessions at Evo's place, with Arjen Stolk, Mila, Joeri, Geert, Gea, Peter Visser, Roy, Carl.


The last person to join in July 2013 was Youri. He came in the band May 2013. Martin knew Youri from another band the Chasing Mavericks, in which they both actually still play.

Cold Shoulder is now coming more and more a band. The music they play can be described as 'indi-noise pop'. 
The songs differ between little more singer-songwriter material, pop songs with a noisy edge and some louder material. 
Bands Cold Shoulder is compared with are for example bands like Sebadoh, Bonnie Prince Billy (aka Will Oldham), Johan and Built to Spill.

We are sure you can hear in our songs to what we listen. We hope the combination of this is telling you something or may give you a great time.

At the moment Could Shoulder is busy to finish their first album. The songs which you will find on sound cloud are recorded in, studio Moskou in Utrecht, during rehearsal (the 'demo' songs) or in Studio 195 in Wernhout (near the Belgium border).
