We are a group of San Diego musicians who have formed a fresh sound that we call 'Groove Rock'.  Blended from funky soul, bluesy rock, and an eclectic list of influences, we're here to have a good time and take ourselves super seriouslys.

It was the summer of ’14, when Joshua McCleskey and Kaley Morlock moved to the sleepiest beach town in Southern California. They weren’t Coral Bells then, but a couple of folk musicians from Oklahoma who took their chances on a town they had never been to. Their exodus led them to Imperial Beach, a place that unexpectedly became an integral part of Coral Bells’ identity. Six months after visiting, longtime friend and mandolin player, Jimmy Schmitz, relocated to form the trio that was frequently found at farmer’s markets and busking in Ocean Beach. It wasn’t long before they serendipitously met Bostonian native Matt Rogan, another Imperial Beach musician and transplant. After several rooftop bonfire jam sessions, they knew they had to get organized enough to play real shows in front of people.  

Vocalist, Kaley Morlock reflects, "I’m not sure if it’s because our 'folk-and-roll' sound is so niche in Southern California or the fact that fewer and fewer musicians play acoustic instruments these days. I do believe our music has a certain magic to it, because we have collected a wonderful, devoted following to whom we are forever grateful".

Coral Bells was nominated for the 2019 San Diego Music Awards, and have been featured on KPBS, NPR, 91x, Palomar College Radio, NBC SoundDiego, SD Voyager Magazine, and the SD Tribune. Coral Bells released their second EP "the treehouse tapes" in February 2020 with sound engineer, Scott Seader, and Nashville-based, Moses Mastering.

The Mosaic Quartet is a piano-based art pop band from San Diego, California. Though they play different instruments within the group (JB-Vocals/Guitar/Piano, Chetan-Piano (yamaha artist), Melissa-Bass/Vocals/Flute/Piano, Pat-Drums/Guitar), they feature world class concert pianists. Drawing from primary influences like Radiohead, Coldplay, Muse, Nat Cole, and Otis Redding, the classical stylings they weave throughout their songs complimented by Pat's jazz and indie rock approach, creates a sound that's truly their own. Chetan spins virtuosic piano riffs alongside celestial guitar-scapes and pads, a driving rhythm section, and JB's sincere, catchy vocals.

Shortly after the band began honing it's musical direction, they caught the ear of legendary producer T-Bone Burnett. A live session ensued at LA's Village Recorder Studios with the 12-time Grammy winner that gave birth to two tracks: the dance pop inspired 'Let's Go Out" and the tempestuous ballad 'Waterfalls.'

JB and Chetan first met in Cleveland, OH while each was in school. A handful of songs were written and an undeniable chemistry was definitely there. As life would have it, however, school ended with JB moving back home to Boston where he was honing his song writing technique and Chetan trotting around the globe performing and placing highly in some of the worlds most prestigious piano competitions. Despite some tremendous opportunities outside of the popular music world, Chetan and JB were unable to find the same satisfaction they had when they were working together and decided to go all-in and form a band. They soon recruited Melissa, who was studying with the same piano teacher Chetan had worked with, to play bass and move to San Diego to start the band. Once in town, they hooked up with Pat who had spent years developing his rhythmic stylings through jazz and jam band influences.
