Born and raised in Chicago with roots in punk and alternative rock, I found my calling in hiphop music in the late 90's as Mr. Amigo.  From there I would go on to making music with friends and local emcees such as Mordecai the Foul, Biig Miic and the Blvr.   We would release compilations and EP's through out the 2000's under the NDigenous Records moniker.

2008 Mordecai, Blvr and bassist Paul "the demon" would form the short lived hiphop group "Altered Status".

2010 I released my fist solo EP, "Still Got Some Fight" under the alias Asa Phelps  for the first time.

2011 Johnny Cosmic of Fluid Minds/Mother Brain Productions and I got together to create "The Lonely Grave of Frank Grimes"  Featured a plethora of emcees from the Mother Brain family and spawned a remix EP  "Return To The Lonely Grave of Frank Grimes".

2012 I had a hand in producing a number of tracks for the Notebook Noise album "Strange Tongue" and released an EP with Chicago emcee 2Ce titled "Ace & Duece Present: Rhythm and Cool: Volume 1.  I've also appeared on the remix album for Fluid Minds and the Saints on Deck mixtape "Brain Damage". 

2015 I released "Hand Over Fist", a proper follow up to it's predecessors bringing both "Still Got Some Fight" and "The Lonely Grave.." together in one release.

I'm currently working "Sara Lives on the Other Side of Beat Down Park" where I bridge 9 years of music making with friends such as Notebook Noise, Mordecai the Foul, Big Miic and more, to make one cohesive music experience ala Mr. Amigo meets Asa Phelps.
