3 QUESTIONS to JAN OBERLAENDER:

Q) While listening to your podcast I realize that there are so many influences inside your music nowadays. Is that true?

A) It´s funny when you think you are up to date with fresh music by just downloading new tracks every week. But when I selected music for this podcast I just realized that I love the same special elements in tracks all the years yet. It´s running like a thread through all the time. Of course my CD library was huge and there were so many tracks inside which just made me shake my head and say “Oh what the hell is this?”. Well, my intention was to mix only tracks which will also work in a club or a festival nowadays, so the tracks have to be a bit more timeless. To be honest it was really difficult for me to do such a classic mix. Meanwhile I thought about to give up and mix a podcast with new tracks only but finally I´m happy that I made it.
 
Q) What´s your favorite festival in Europe and why is it so special?

A) My most favorite one is the Garbicz Festival. I really like it so much because it´s not that big and not too small. The area with the sea is amazing and there are so many friends around that you can´t even go 5 steps without talking. Also the music is completely my kind of music and it´s not that often to find a festival with excellent food.
 
Q) Which releases are coming next?

A) Well mixing this podcast needed some days so now I concentrate producing a 2 track EP which will be released on Heinz Music and I hope to finish that in June or July. Yes, I´m quite slow in producing.

Heute an diesem sommerlichen Frühlingstag möchte ich euch das grandiose Duo Sportbrigade Sparwasser präsentieren. Mark und Marc verfolge ich schon seit vielen Jahren, es war an einem sommerlichen Nation of Gondwana Abend wo mich die Jungs auf dem Dancefloor quasi weggeblasen haben. Da war mir klar die Jungs leben die Musik mit Haut und Haar.

Seit nunmehr 17 Jahren sind die beiden als DJ-Team unterwegs und sportlich werden sie immer dann wenn sie in die Nähe von Plattentellern kommen, und das Fitness-Fieber greift regelmäßig auf die Umgebung über. Ihre Spielweise reicht von verspielt bis rabiat, zeigt sich jedoch stets der Situation angemessen. Obwohl in der Mehrzahl der Fälle als rougher Prime Time Act unterwegs, betreuen die beiden mit ebenso viel Einsatz und Feingefühl verspulte Afterhours oder kuschelige Strand-Open Airs. Stilistisch ist die Sportbrigade dabei auf kein Techno-Genre festzulegen: von zart bis hart wird gespielt, was auf den Teller kommt. Solange es am Ende von der Decke tropft, geht alles.

Aber die Sportbrigade ist den Jungs dann manchmal nicht genug und so haben beiden auch noch so nebenbei ein Solo-Projekt am Laufen. Marc spielt unheimlich gerne Live-Techno und hat das Projekt Abseits-LIVE ins Leben gerufen, wo es demnächst auch noch Veröffentlichungen geben wird. Und Mark treibt sind mit seinen Solo-DJ-Projekt hypnorex noch hinter den DJ-Pulten rum.

Ach ja und so nebenbei Veranstalten die Jungs ja auch noch eine grandiose Party Reihe seit Jahren … Grand Sportfest … wo es immer eine tolle Mischung aus alten Hasen und jungen Küken gibt. Das nächste Sportfest findet am 26.05. im ://about blank statt.

Und weil das alles nicht genug ist erscheint demnächst auch noch eine Compilation „Circuit Training“ auf die man wohl mehr als gespannt sein darf. 

Vor einem guten halben Jahr wurde ich dann auch wieder verstärkt auf die Jungs aufmerksam und hab so den einen oder anderen Kommentar bei ihren Live-Sets hinterlassen. Worauf Marc mich dann irgendwann angeschrieben hat und sich für meinen Support bedankte … das passiert mir auch sehr selten und daraus ist dann auch gleich ein super netter Kontakt entstanden. Umso mehr freut es mich tierisch, das die zwei trotz vollem Terminkalender sind die Mühe gemacht haben diesen umwerfenden und abwechslungsreichen Podcast einzuspielen. 

Mark und Marc tausend Dank für diese sportlichen 1,5 Stunden, es mir wirklich eine große Ehre euch mit in meiner Reihe zu haben. Und meinen Hörern wünsch ich nun ein einen sportlichen Hörgenuss mit der Brigade und ihr wisst ja spart nicht mit dem Wasser ;-)

Whether pulsating clubs, underground events, tropical beach and jungle parties or dusty festivals, Katja and Markus know how to elate the crowd with their diversified sound, which is always positive and far beyond the boring stereotyped. 
For now both are active as solo artists under the names:  Komorebi and Question Mark
