I haven't posted new music since a while now, although I never stopped composing. I guess this track is the most personal thing I could share with you.
It's about a woman who means a lot to me. She always encouraged me in my darkest hours. Even if I was close to delete all of my recordings and burn all of the albums I made. She took me to Bonn to study film-music-composition this year and was proud of me doing what I do. She plays the violin in this song and was sitting next to me most of the time I was composing it (for her and with her).

On December the 8th 2014 she passed away. I am trying to accept it and that's why I am sharing her beauty with you. May her playing move you the way it moves me and may she never be forgotten.

I love you.
I miss you.
And I will never forget what you have done for me.
Thank you for everything my beloved muse.

Inspired by a fascinating essay I recently read about roses written by Peter Grey.

Two images struck me from the essay:

1. It told of how influenced by Sufi teachings the Templars, the warrior monks of the Crusades, would keep rose gardens within their monasteries.

2. It also told of an obscure legend regarding the rose's occult status as a symbol of secrecy... Cupid once bribed Harpocrates with a rose to not tell of Venus' affairs.
In remembrance of this the ancient Romans would sometimes hang a rose over their couch to signify that anything taking place under it was to remain a secret, or Sub Rosa if you will.

So here's to the ultimate yonic symbol, with a smoldering history of mystery, the rose.

Sub Rosa

A repository for the solo projects of Gaze Santos, musician/magician of the Hodic Sphere.
He is an aspiring multi-instrumentalist with folk and psychedelic leanings.
Originally hails from Canada, he currently resides in the land of the rising sun, also known as Japan.

Musick has been a part of Gaze's life from very young. He grew up playing the viola in the London Youth Symphony of Ontario, and various chamber orchestras and choirs.

His musical career really took off with a series of spells that he began casting in 2004. The result of these spells was the mysterious Toronto musical group known as The Zodiacal Lunacy Collective. They would only play on the nights of the full moon. 
All music was improvised. Nothing was planned. Everything was attempted. 
Much were the benefits of these spells for all those involved...
