Parallels Pt. 1 & Pt. 2, released earlier this year via Gravitas Music, guided listeners to peer through two sides of the looking glass. The sultry “One Thing”, featuring vocalist Cristina Soto, finds itself reimagined most; even after receiving numerous reworkings, each new version of the track continues to demonstrate the original’s depth and versatility. All parts of the Parallels project are available as a pay-what-you-want download, affirming the artist’s dedication to his music.

In the modern world of electronic music, running a label is no easy undertaking. The task requires a specific type of flexibility and finesse to maneuver through rapidly evolving landscapes, and because of this, often labels fall off as quickly as they begin. After five years steering the movement of multi-genre bass music, Gravitas Recordings has proven itself an anchor in the industry, even if success is not always measured in play counts or festival billing positions. 

As a label and artist collective, Gravitas has helped cultivate uncounted experiences for passionate music lovers across the world, and as a celebration of five years in this labor of love, the crew has released a compilation to honor a truly noteworthy milestone. The 34 track collection spans only a tiny corner of the label’s massive 100 album catalog, but still offers a healthy slice of the varied styles and artists that have collaborated with Gravitas over the years. New challenges will undoubted await the team in the years to come, but if the past is any indication, Gravitas Recordings will meet every obstacle with creativity and dedication for the foreseeable future.
