Treating the live instrumentation as a playground for sample flipping, the two have crafted both a jazz album and a jazzhop album. Showing us how it's done, starting from scratch, one step at a time, from beginning to end. Spirit of Naima is the self-titled ten song album between Psalm Trees and ALEXANDER. This forty minute album strays from Chillhop's beat world and steps into modern jazz, full of organic instrumentation and live sounds. Press play and hear trumpets, saxophones, violins, sweeping vocals, pianos, electric guitars, and a guiding bass line. This album feels like stepping into a lounge bar, digging through crates at a record store, or daydreaming away while on a long walk. It's rainy day music. Early morning or late at night. It's jazzy, it's smooth, it cool. It's Chillhop's first full jazz offering and we hope you dig the laid-back vibes.
