in.the.forest.we.are.wizards is an ep about childhood nostalgia. about places that no longer exist, people who are no longer with us, endless summer days filled with mystery and wonder.. personally, playing the piano brings back so many memories, and that is one of the reasons why I chose this ep to be so piano driven..

Also known under his original name Julien Mier, santpoort is a prodigious man who developed an inspiring musical and illustrative project in 2018. 

The artist finds his inspirations in the landscapes he travelled during his youth. "Santpoort", also his hometown, is a dutch village on the dunes surrounded by water and sand by the North Sea shore and his latest EP "mudflat hikers" represents that big empty space that stretches on the horizon.

I grew up on a street in Western Helsinki called "Ruusutarhantie", which means "Rose Garden Road". I recently visited that place for nostalgia's sake when I went to visit my family back home in Finland last December.

That place triggered so many memories. They had cut down a huge linden tree that used to be there, but otherwise the place looked exactly as I remembered it from childhood. The houses appeared to be smaller though, but maybe I've just grown bigger.

Enjoy the track. Official album announcement in the next week or so.
