MAG The Artist is a young rapper coming out of Spalding County, Georgia. MAG is somewhat of a hip-hop purist at heart, drawing lyrical influence from the likes of J. Cole, Jay-Z, and other rappers whose main focus early in their careers were to inpress with their lyrics.
As with all artists, however, there is growth. More recently, The Artist's work can be comparable to "Born Sinner" J. Cole, Saba, and other artists whose focus shifted from being phenomenal rappers to being phenomenal artists, experimenting with sounds that pull away from the "purist" form while implementing lyrics with more of an emotional connection to him. As he grows more comfortable with telling his own story, his music continues to evolve into something listeners can form a more personal connection to, and that, as should be with all artists, is his main goal.
