After we played our first show together, the Zeds dead guys and I really wanted to do a track together. They sent me a few ideas and the chord progression for this track really stood out to me and I immediately wrote some ideas for vocal chops and arrangement. A few months later we met up in LA and got in the studio to lock in the main idea and find a vocal. I originally pictured a track between us to be a bit heavier, but once we wrote these melodies and vocal chops I really fell in love with the emotion of the track.

ZUZU is the new moniker of Australian Composer and Producer Joseph de la Hoyde. His music is singular and provocative, drawing on a vast array of personal influences including his deep fascination with the modern psyche; the procession of doubt and the inherent inclinations toward desire, disorder and disengagement that lead to anxiety. Through ZUZU, Joseph combines a profound film music sensibility with an alternative pop edge, drawing on influences as far as Hans Zimmer, Nine Inch Nails and Massive Attack to modern producers Malay and 40. At 24, ZUZU presents a culmination of Joseph’s experience into one coherent artistic body, exploring his subjective matter through both music and his ongoing writing project ‘A Body of Desire’.
