About:
Singer, writer, poet, and expressionist Abdullah Miniawy became, in the wake of the revolution, an artistic emblem for Egypt’s agitated youth. Alongside Peter Corser on the saxophone and Karsten Hochapfel on the cello, he is sure to grip audiences as Le Cri du Caire. Blending rock, jazz, sprinkles of oriental flourishes, spoken word, and Sufi poetry and philosophy, the three-piece adorn each room they play in with a rich metaphorical universe transcending identities and borders. Their self-titled debut, released in January, serves as a sample of what can be achieved on the stage.

Would you spend all your time searching for reason and rhyme, 
An understanding why the mind seems to lie?
Or just affirm belief and feel a sense of relief
That what you felt you knew was now proven true?

If you were faced with a miracle, so strong and yet so strange 
If you were faced with a miracle, how would you change?
If you were faced with a miracle, more than you dared to hope 
If you were faced with a miracle, how would you cope?
Would you just stay resolved that one day it would be solved,
Or would you change your views and go spread the news?
Could you just let it remain as something you can’t explain? 
Or keep it treasured inside, and seldom confide?

I tell you I’ve seen miracles; I see them every day

Face to face with miracles, my living legacy
The smiling faces of miracles, of souls set free. 
Are they a certain sign that there’s a grander design?
