Danionella’s music blends soulful vocals with witty social commentary. Influenced by a wide range of musical styles, she is a member of the London Community Gospel Choir and was raised by her mother, West End actress Rebecca Storm. Surrounded by music and performance from an early age, these experiences shaped her unique sound.

The bands Blur and The Beautiful South were huge influences on Danionella’s journey into songwriting in the '90s. So, the last two years have felt surreal: she performed with Blur at their iconic Wembley reunion gig and later produced Dave Hemingway’s (Housemartins/The Beautiful South) upcoming EP.

Currently, Danionella is gigging solo and with her 8-piece ska band, Little Loud Fish. She is also working on writing a new musical, with themes inspired by activism.

33 Years of Deejaying experience and the overdraft to prove it. Been there, seen that, bought the T-shirt but still very much interested in new music in a variety of flavours including house, techno, old disco, boogie and soul along with a very selective interest in hip-hop, funk and all that type of stuff. 

I had my first residency in 1991 at the Yard Club in Huddersfield. Along with my twin brother Martin Deane, Gavan Fleming and Will Oliver, we put on the Bassquake parties which began in 1992 and ran for 12 years all over the North of England. Martin & I then went on to become residents at the Trailer Trash all-nighters at the Mill in Bradford which ran for 7 years. I've been in a few bands and toured Eastern Europe as well as doing a small amount of production along the way. I always preferred playing other peoples music to making my own - which was usually better than mine!

Festivals are easily my favourite type of events to work at and I've been lucky enough to be involved in the annual Beat Herder festival near Clitheroe for the past 9 years. It's a medium sized independent festival that started in 2006. I provided the lighting for the Trailer Trash big-top, played in there, booked acts, stage managed and made coffees. 

I built-up and maintained a fairly large sound system - but I've now sold most of it to concentrate on 'vintage' lighting - which is easier to move and store (as well as being nicer to look at).

I used to do quite a bit of DJing - but i had to cut right back in recent years whilst i was completing my doctorate. I still DJ sometimes - but now I have the luxury of being pretty selective about what I commit to.

Like most DJs I used to think that I was going to make a career out of it - but nowadays I'm more realistic. That doesn't mean that I'm not professional in my approach - I see DJaying as a long-standing hobby that I really enjoy doing. I've met, booked and shared the bill with some fantastic DJs and bands over the years - Greg Wilson, Idjut Boys, Radioactive Man, Shackleton, Luke Vibert, Pilooski, Coldcut, DJ Format, Steve Cobby, 2 for Joy, Dub Phyzix, John Morales, Justin Drake, Martin Brew, TT Residents, 808 State, Graham Massey, Gavan Fleming, Will Oliver, Ewan Cawood, Paul Wain, Andy Weatherall, John Stapleton, Spud, Mark Turner, Sam Hell, Acid Rockers, John Berry, Jinx In Dub, James Holroyd, Rob Bright, Moonboots, Scott Crawford, & of course my Twin brother Martin Deane (and lots of others).

I dabbled with music journalism - writing for the now defunct Ark magazine and I'm always on the lookout for new music. I have amassed a fairly large record collection over the years, which keeps on growing - albeit at a slower rate since I incorporated digital music formats from the early noughties.  

I often re-edit tracks in Ableton Live for DJing with to improve their pace & impact. 

I simply love music.
