This is a special compilation of Game Boy arrangements I did for the band moe., a group I've been a fan of for 20+ years, to play at their "arcade-themed" 2018 Halloween concert in Philadelphia. I based these four covers primarily on the studio versions that appear on several of moe.'s fantastic albums from the late 90s/early 2000s. It was a real treat to arrange these songs — the complicated composed middle section of "Buster" is something I'm especially proud of — and an honor to be recognized by a band I've listened to and admired for so many years. Only a few snippets of "Spine of a Dog" and "Big World" were played at the Halloween concert itself, so here are the full versions of all four songs I covered. Enjoy!!

Spine of a Dog

Chipocrite, a.k.a. Paul Weinstein, uses original Nintendo Game Boys, often accompanied by bass, guitar and/or other lo-fi sequencers, to create complex audio masterpieces. His multifaceted but catchy compositions combine the nostalgic game sounds of his childhood with modern music influences.

Since emerging from the Philadelphia chip scene just a few years ago, Chipocrite has taken the stage at numerous performance spaces, events and conventions, including the Vans Warped Tour, Blip Festival, MAGFest and AnimeNEXT; provided soundtracks for commercials — including a nationally televised GameStop ad — as well as video games and online videos; released "Hit and Run", which was named “Best Album – Chiptune” in Square Enix Music Online's Annual Game Music Awards for 2011; appeared as the musical guest on popular tech-centric Web talk-show series “On The Verge” — and much more.
