I was at a Michael McDonald/Boz Scaggs concert with my lady and she was laughing at me for knowing all the songs.  Well, the Michael McDonald ones at least.  She commented, "How do you know all this Yacht Rock?" and I reminded her that my mom is white.  We started joking around that I should make a mix of it, and eventually it became a dare and challenge.  I love Classic Rock, so I decided to go ahead and make this mix.  There are a lot of really terrible Yacht Rock songs out there, but I picked only my favorites for this mix.  These ones are a bit more funky and uptempo.  You may claim that not all these songs are Yacht Rock, but they are definitely Soft Rock tunes (aka Blue Eyed Soul) from the late 70's and early 80's. Back in 2013 I was at a free Michael McDonald and Boz Scaggs concert in the park. I was singing along to most of the songs, and my girlfriend at the time was giving me this puzzled look. I asked her what the funny look was all about, and she said, “How do you know all this Yacht Rock?”. I started cracking up because I had never heard it called that before. We were both born in the 80’s, so we didn't really start listening to music until the 90's, and she was shocked that I knew all this soft rock that came out before I was born. She joked that I should make a mix of it just for fun, so I did, and it ended up being an extremely popular mix of mine. I know it's been a while, but I decided to make a part 2. Enjoy!
