HATE OR GLORY

As a band, our primary focus is the live performance; and with Two Rooms - EP, we aimed to create an honest portrayal of our music just as we play it. On a small budget, we committed ourselves to recording Two Rooms in two days at Big Orange Studio, and to tracking all of the songs live. 

Perhaps unconventional, the ten song EP is comprised of five improvised sketches (Chautauqua, Rhombus, Movements, and Two Rooms), one soundscape (Wild Senna), and four live-recorded songs (Scout, Riverburn, Amarillo and Headrush). Thus Two Rooms - EP paints a genuine picture. It is an introductory glimpse into both who we are and what we want to do together as musicians. 

Riley Engemoen, a great friend of ours and an incredible filmmaker, filmed us in the studio and made a video that premiered via Pop Press International (www.poppressinternational.com/2014/04/16/post-rock-band-chipper-jones-video-premiere-amarilloheadrush/) and can be viewed here: vimeo.com/91907041.

Osaka’s Perfect Touch label welcomes the lengthening summer with a moment of transcendental calm, working with artists from Japan and beyond to coordinate a 9 track compilation of ambient and beautiful electronic music. Dutchman Julien Mier starts us off with some pitched down chords and vocal arrangements, followed by Kyoto newcomer (and Max/MSP genius) Kafuka who goes deep with a delicately arranged assembly of organic jitters and crafted melodies. Not to be missed are appearances by the likes of Seattle’s DJAO, Tokyo’s Jemapur, and Japan-via-Thailand traveling beat guru Lee. Let this compilation be a companion to your early morning weekend wake-up rituals, or your 4AM post party bike ride home — just a little extra peace of mind to your long and unpredictable days.

Vinyl Noise (ft. I.V.A.)

This is a reworked version of a track 'Like Ships Without Anchors' from the album 'Her Name In A Language Of Stars', cut and edited for my live set, which I used to play a while ago. I found it nearly as enjoyable as original (maybe even more), and decided to share it on my networks.

For the artwork I used a painting of a great Swedish landscape and marine painter Simeon Marcus Larson. I decided to leave it blank and not to use any fonts not to ruin the masterpiece. The painting is called Ångfartyg i solnedgång (English: Steamship in Sunset).
