Still riding the high from my 26th birthday this past weekend, I share the second release from my GEMS remix series. 

I love Terius Nash, so I went through the all of my CDs and decided to remix one of my favorites "Luv Songs" and flipped it into club-friendly jam that's safe for sultry body rolls.

So, Solange drops this surprise album, 'When I Get Home' (https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/when-i-get-home/1454595364), and upon reaching track no.7, entitled "Dreams", I immediately knew I wanted to remix it. It had subtle movements in it so I decided to accentuate them and make more pronounced...Lucid 😉 (added keys, drums, bass, synth pads, percussion, lead synths, editing, mixing, and mastering).

Our bond with Virginia producer LAKIM was sealed during the summer of 2012 when he contributed “1997″ to our Cosmic Island compilation. From there, we kept a close eye on his work, including his collaborations with rapper Jean P. as part of Opposites Attract and his growing catalogue of remixes. We quickly asked LAKIM if he was down to release some projects through our imprint, Potholes Music, and so began a new relationship with the gifted producer.

While we talked about what we could release with him, LAKIM casually dropped a flip of Erykah Badu’s “On & On” that left us needing more. With the knowledge that he had other remixes under his belt, we all agreed that it was time to drop an EP showcasing his footwork/juke-oriented flips. And just like that, Reinterpretations was born. The six-track release compiles LAKIM’s shuffling, addictive takes on cuts like “On & On”, Justin Timberlake’s “Like I Love You”, and a deft blend of Jill Scott’s “So Gone” and Bun B’s verse on “Int’l Players Anthem (I Choose You)”.
