method: setting out from the voice clip (text to speech) of the poem and finding its paces and counterpoints in two kinds of daw
narration: why do people keep telling me how great AI is supposed to be ….. when I feel like an extension of the intelligent machine already – in the mainly physical (mechanical and electrical) field and age, mental representation has a different function …. is this really a transformation of the self these people are looking forward to? - - - - sibyls have always had a non-human aspect, enticing and alienating humans the way the fair folk (or  Cassandra, for that matter) did

method: taking the sl 2 (and some other pedals) for a ride into lush territories and then  being rigidly minimalist in the initial mixing … the initial mixing, yes …. things evolved a bit on the longish side, though ... I hope the endeavour is worth your while …. there will be carmenta pt2 soon, then employing the (older but less menue-diving) sl 20 pedal

image: a fridge magnet (made of fake marble and adorned with a tourist version of the etruscan alphabet) was purchased at the gift shop in the villa giulia in rome which houses the etruscan museum. I went there more than a decade ago and very much enjoyed mostly empty showrooms at year’s end, much to my delight. (actually, the poem is titled ETRURIA. For this album, however, three syllables  are mandated which is why I chose the name of the sibyl referred to, carmenta, who is supposed to have shifted the spelling of the letters to create the etruskan alphabet, later inspiring the „latin“ letters):

I started with music in the 60s. I was part of several bands.
While my blood boiled to the rhythm of the best Rock & Roll, a tsunami called The Beatles came from Liverpool. That tide lasted twenty years during which the best musicians of the 20th century appeared.
I was there !!!
In the mid-seventies I completely abandoned music. I didn't play a single note for the next fifty years. And now, a little older, I play music in my studio again with more enthusiasm than ever. I think I never should have left it... It gives me life.....
Thank you all, friends, for taking part of your precious time to listen to my humble noises...
