Chiv (Born Robert Craig Chivers Jr) is a hip-hop artist from Claremont NH who blends together grimy flows and catchy hooks with clever and intense songwriting and taking influences from artists such as Jay-Z, Dr. Dre, Eminem, TLC The Fugees, Black Eyed Peas and The Game among others. Chiv was Born in Middletown CT on April 8, 1988. Bouncing through numerous cities in the Northeast during youth such as Portland CT, Lebanon NH, and Vermont towns such as Hartford and Bradford. It was a 4th grade move to Rochester NY when he got into poetry which in turn morphed into songwriting. It was then where Chiv found his love for athletics and picked up basketball and football on a serious note. He kept that priority until a move to Claremont NH took place in 8th grade where music was always a thing. After a few church concerts and some collaborations with a local Christian rock band and some more songwriting, a re-fuled passion had been found. With the help from local artist Chris ''Crook'' Session, and a move to the Boston area came the first recordings from Chiv, Crook, One Mike, and James also known as ''The Calvery''
 A short hiatus from music followed to get things in order after the birth of his daughter Ayanna in 2006. But a move back to Claremont and a spark of ambition came in 2008 with the birth of his son Quincy and an introduction to Burlington VT artist/producer/mentor, ''Resse45.'' Here came music full force and the results came many recordings with Reese as well as solo. Soon after came the introduction to the Bronx native and rapper ''Gatez'' which formed a bond and group collaberation between Chiv Gatez and Hayze that went by the name FMN or ''Fit My Nature'' with a brief FMN split in 2011, came work with VT artist Buckner which produced the on point tracks for an awaited mixtape ''Now Boarding''. For Chiv the dream is simple. To succeed and make music for the soul. For friends, family, and our lifestyles. To bring a new style to the world of hi-hop with a real northern twist. Stay tuned.
