Chizu Nnamdi (18/7/20)

‘core’ is an experimental music track built around field recordings developed using contact microphones on the surfaces on a range of materials around building sites and built environment structures in Glasgow.

My aims were to encourage the listener to consider the effects of low frequency vibration on the body, imagining the self as organic construction material, and engage the imagination in visualising the effects of sound on microscopic organisms. The music rests in an soothing interplay between rumble, distortion, pitch manipulation and tonal harmony.
