This month's guest for the first half of the show is @MITAYO from snowy Sapporo, the city dubbed by many as the music capital of Japan. Orbiting around legendary club Precious Hall - famous for its no-frills lineups year-round and world-class sound system - and underground music temple Provo, MITAYO has carved himself a place as an exceptional selector, even by Sapporo's standards. His contribution to the series is as unique and eclectic as can be. It will remind those who know of MITAYO's own place Spice no Ana, a cosy restaurant with an excellent DJ setup, nested in the middle of the city. This is where he hosts "Datsuryoku Ongakukai", a party that can only be described as a listening session/house party with food, desserts, booze and a generous dose of Japanese New Year's vibes: quiet yet festive, still and joyful at the same time.

Moiré is perhaps one of the most criminally underrated producers of recent times - yeah we said it. 

Around 2013 his music began to bubble within certain circles - weird, mutant off piste bass inspired music with nods to the likes of Basic Channel, tape culture and beyond. It was at times Dubby, at times Housey and at the same time never necessarily fit into any one place in particular. 

He was championed and supported by the likes of Actress and released EP's for Ninja Tune, Werk Discs, Rush Hour and many other prominent record labels.

However, in part to his mysterious persona, Moiré didn't go on to the rapturous heights expected of a musician so clearly and blatantly talented. Not one to 'play the game' so to speak Moiré was happy to let his music speak for himself without the bravado or 'bullsh*t' which often comes with an industry which revels in hype.

Instead, quietly behind the scenes, he continued to hone his craft releasing a number of records and albums on the likes of Ghostly International, Hypercolour and Spectral Sound.

His most recent release came in the form of a new album for Avenue 66 - an exploratory journey through IDM inspired sounds based upon analog modulation and circuit loops - hence the title 'Circuits'.

It was an ambitious project for a producer keen to challenge his own limitations in his use and approach to hardware and instrumentation.

The result? A killer assortment of pensive, thought provoking electronic sounds that's all too easy to get lost in.

Anyway, we invited Moiré to record a mixtape for us, we should have really asked before.

It's hard to know where to begin when introducing Daniel Martin-McCormick. For the past  number of years he's been producing mind-bending techno as Ital, appearing on labels such as Planet Mu, 100% Silk, Workshop and Gang Of Ducks. He's teamed up with Aurora Halal for a pair of 12"s on his Lovers Rock label. He's also a part of Sleeper Cell with Earthen Sea, releasing foggy electronica that blurs the line between techno and ambient (whatever that word means these days) and jammed out with Jamal Moss as Interplanetary Prophets. This isn't even counting his earlier days in bands Black Eyes and Mi Ami. Right now though, he's focusing on a new alias, Relaxer, and last year released three 12"s under that name. He's given us a spectacular mix, and he answered our questions with great insight and clarity.
