Jehovah has set His affection on you,
choosing you before the world began
to be holy like Him, without blemish, in love––
one with Him, the same as Him, His masterpiece.
God fell in love with you and me,
in our bridal days, our wandering,
still betrothed to Thee.

who are you, Lord? who are you to me?
here I am, just as I am; I look away.
what shall I do? what’s your will for me?
take my heart and let it be held by you completely.
to give you my future without reserve,
I’m captivated, charmed by Thee;
your will be done through me.

“rise up, My love, and come away;
there’s no need to stay out in the rain.
the rain is gone, the winter past.
come to Me, come and see, and you shall be
My personal treasure, My dwelling place.
how beautiful! I have loved you 
with everything I am.”

Lord, make me willing to come away––
to follow you, my life for you, what a “waste.”
bring me to ashes, let nought remain.
daily change my inward being until I see
you come in that day, coming as a thief,
to be occupied and lost in you,
precious in your eyes.
