Originally hailing from Tokyo, she has been living a digital nomad life for the past 2.4 decades in UK, Bali and now Nice Cote d'Azur, South of France. My name is Ilya Surmay, I’m a DJ and a producer from Ukraine. I discovered psychedelic chillout music in 2015 and instantly became a huge fan of it. With a bit of a background as a drummer and a guitarist I then began to learn music production and DJing. Over the years I played at local parties and festivals in Ukraine and released a few tracks under the name “Highlighted”, also I have another project “il ya” that’s all about slow chill beats with less psy and more lo-fi sound.
