Area Z is proud to present our 11th tape, courtesy of Paris-based artist Théo Ferretti.

Coming from his gothic and post-punk roots, the project aims to fuse these influences with shades of electronic body music, martial techno and mystic industrial music, blending together darkness, poetry, existentialism and modern day brutalism.

Questioning the duality between the material and the immaterial, the past and the present, the sacred and the cursed, M I M’s sound is severe and transcendent while remaining danceable and cathartic.

Staring at the Void -his third EP- is the logical following to all of these topics, a dive into the abyss of the human subconscious through haunting basslines, rains of metal hits, screams of despair and liturgical chants.

Joining forces to Théo’s release, we have the pleasure to present three remixes of the EP, courtesy of England’s Randolph & Mortimer, our Toulouse's Arabian Panther and from UVB’s side-project Elements of Joy, which presents his first remix under this alias.

So! Here is my live recording of the Plant Sound Journey i did at Boom festival this summer 🍃🌱🌿
I never did a whole set playing only plant generated sounds before. I also never played such an “ambient” set, not in anyway attemting to intensify, but rather inviting the audience to fully slow down. 
To, just for this one hour, put aside all we think we know of how we safe the planet through what we eat and how we live with nature. To put aside everything we logically know and studiet about, but to rather emphasize with it and for once just truly try to listen to what it wants to tell us. 
I feel that we live in a world where the art of listening, is something we have to relearn. 
To listen not only with our ears and mind, but also with our hearts and intuition.
I believe that only then, we would really be able to hear the clear message being given. 
That only then, we really connect and become one 🍃
