Flâneur (feat. Anomalie)

En ensam vinterkväll glider en bastu över isen som ett skepp i drömmens hav. Inne i värmen blandar tre musiker ånga och toner, där varje improvisation följer norrskenets slingor över himlen. Utanför vilar Norrlands djupa tystnad – myrar, fjäll och älvar lyssnar lika mycket som publiken. Varje låt är ett kapitel i en nattlig resa, från de första knarrande stegen ut på isen till gryningens första bleka ljus. Det är frostbiten soul, glödande horn och rytmer som värmer långt efter att veden brunnit ut.

Just a tune I wrote that brings me joy. The great Mike Sunjka plays guitar. I kept thinking I would replace the drums/bass I created with live instruments but it never worked out, so this "demo" version is a-go.

Childhood in 7/8 time: Istanbul Before Twelve smells of simit and the sea; it sounds like ferry horns, spoon percussion, and merchants’ cries. Makam melodies meet nu-jazz soul—warm, handcrafted, alive.



This is my first map of Istanbul—from the courtyard to the ferry, from the tea garden to the Grand Bazaar. You’ll hear makam colors, microtones, and aksak grooves in 7/8 and 9/8; saz, oud, kanun, ney, kaval, zurna, darbuka, and davul telling how the city sounded to me before I turned twelve.
Each track is a scene: our block, the neighbor, Teacher Veli (stern and kind), friendship and hospitality, the green valleys, the Bosphorus, the nights, the tea garden, and the journey forward. Between seagulls and ferry horns, nu-jazz and soul blend with a hint of djent—honest, warm, handcrafted.
