Seductive and whimsical, Perkulat0r's debut release "Transcension", released on Gravitas Recordings, is quite a special conception. As the winner of last year's Minnesota remix contest, this young producer has set the bar high with every deep, textured song he's devised. A tactile atmosphere is created within each track, showcasing an apparent keen ear for synthesis and firm grasp on melody. In 2016, ill.Gates released the “More Tea EP” which incorporated the sounds from field recordings and studio sessions in Taiwan, along with samples of Alan Watts, Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee. For Cypher 21, the challenge to the Class of 808 was to create a non-aggressive song that creates soundscapes for the Urban Teahouse. No synths were allowed except for sub-bass and the results are an ultra-chilled out journey that is the perfect soundtrack for an afternoon of meditative tea tasting.
