This June one of Nu-Disco, House and SynthWave's most ubiquitous and well respected figures Freak You unleashes his swansong, a massive Pop House tune titled There You Are.

Assisting him in rocking your world is London ElectroPop superstar Bright Light Bright Light. Fresh from I Wish We Were Leaving, his collaboration with Sir Elton John, BLx2 is the icing on this deep and infectious House monster you're sure to be hearing a lot of over the Summer.

The release comes full to bursting point with some of the hottest reMix talent around. France's Freak You remains an enigma, despite being one of the most well known figures on the Nu-Disco and House music scenes. As head-honcho of On The Fruit Records he's been responsible for some of the biggest club releases in the past few years and as a producer, DJ and reMixer he's consistently won fans over with his classic, timeless, floorfillers. Also part of electronic act LoFrames with James Yuill, Freak You continues to be at the forefront of innovative, yet Poppy, dance music.

Bright Light Bright Light is the moniker of Welsh born, London based Rod Thomas who released his début album Make Me Believe In Hope last year to rave reviews. Hailed by Sunday Times Culture as "a songwriter of extraordinary dexterity", by Elton John as the hottest new thing in music, ending up at no.4 in the Guardian Reader's Albums of 2012 poll, and touring with Ellie Goulding, Erasure and Scissor Sisters, it's clear that his late 80s/early 90s tinged ElectroPop has found quite a few fans.
Rod, "the boy Robyn in all but name" according to the NME, is performer, songwriter, producer and DJ.

There You Are gets the reMix treatment from some of the most exciting names in electronic music. Acclaimed Dreamwave/Nu-Disco/House producer Edwin Van Cleef  is up first with the kind of crowd pleaser he is so known for. Starcadian, who's been receiving a lot of press recently for his Disco tinged SynthWave and his epic music videos, delivers a blissful nostalgia trip. The early 90s House scene is perfectly captured by Cosmonaut Grechko on his shiny piano jam and ElectroPop giants She's The Queen serve up a huge Progressive House track for the biggest dancefloors.

Those of you who have been following us for some time know that once in a while we like to switch things up. We've done everything from laid-back indie dance tracks to glitchy moombahton, melodic hip hop and whatever other genres we care to make up (see: "Die Happy"). 

For our latest record, we aimed for the dancefloor with our take on a classic piano house track entitled "All I Need". We wrote it last year with London-based singer Beth Aggett who is just amazing tbh. Seriously, check her out! The song is about becoming stronger after a breakup that ended badly but ultimately made you more complete.

We chose to put this one out with a record label (Thrive Music) for the additional support. For that reason we can't give it out for free but if you like the song we hope you'll support it anyway.

The successor to Stee Downes' 2008 debut „All In A Day“ has been in the making for quite some time now. The anticipation couldn't be bigger therefore on the second album “The Bigger Picture”, which will finally see the light of day in July. To fuel these expectations even further Sonar Kollektiv releases a preliminary EP featuring three tracks to be found on “The Bigger Picture”.

Already with “Big Mistake” you can sense why it took Downes so long to bear his sophomore full-length set. The man doesn't want to tie himself down to just one single style of expression, but aims for a greater goal, to make the world a better place with songs so powerful and life-affirming nobody can't escape their magic. There's funk in it, lots of soul of course but also this kind of infectious pop appeal which leads – under normal circumstances – to the big, worldwide breakthrough. “Always On My Mind” orientates itself by the productions and collaborations Downes' fame and reputation has been built on over the last few years. You can call it soulful house music for grown-ups, if you need a label to it. And the third song off this optimism spreading EP, “All Over The World”, is another jaw-dropper, a true anthem of life, love and of course music. If the other songs from “The Bigger Picture” are only roughly as good as these three teasers, one can look forward to one the best albums of 2016.
