Here's a mix I did for Record Breakin' Music (RBM), a Phildelphia-based indie record label. The label's catalogue spans a wide range of new soul music way beyond the limitations of commercial radio. Mainstream urban radio has been successful in crossing over and producing forgettable club hits and over-used formulas. However it has been unsuccessful at producing artists that reflect our lives today and represent the evolution and progression of Soul music. 

This mix showcases why I love and support RBM. I chose 17 songs from their catalog ranging from instrumentals to the soul of singers/songwriters. There is a whole network of artists and labels pushing new soulful music without regard to the current cliches in urban radio. I present to you Record Breakin’ Music.

Queerbomb Mini mix by Chorizo Funk

Here's volume two in the Clásico series, and I'm excited to share a live recording from myself on the turntables and Rudy Rexx on live percussion. 

The collaborative set between Rudy Rexx and myself was the inspiration for the first Clásico mix. However I made the previous volume without his musical contribution. At the moment we had barely begun to perform together as Clásico, so the mix served as an introduction to the music that we wanted to play. 

Fast forward to April 2013, and we've had a couple of months playing together and you get this live recording from our April set at Takoba in Austin. This evening I decided to play more Brazilian music along with the usual mix of Salsa, Cumbia, and other styles of Afro-Latin music.
