Taken on Kulturnatt 2015 outside the Medeltidsmuseet (there's this tiny park called Strömparterren) watching seabirds bob down the fast-running, bridge-covered channel between Helgeandsholmen (the tiny island I was on) and Riddarholmen (the slightly larger island where the Stockholm Palace is).

These stairs by Stockholm City Hall go right down into the water. On swanky city occasions one could theoretically take a ceremonial boat right up to the building. In the meantime the square area of water makes for some interesting wave patterns and noises.
