Upavas is a unique artist and a true Goa pioneer. He came to Goa by accident in 1986 and fell in love . His love stuck and evolved with the scene until today. Upavas began writing electronic music in 2002 and earned himself a reputation for dark & twilight PSY over the years. He has been a part of Sangoma Records' artist roster since 2014, where he happily continues his musical mischief. He is currently working on a new album. Get ready to go PSYCHEDELIC!

Funky Freaky Forest 2021

The second lost & found mixtape of this series comes straight out of 2014: a  DJ set recorded at a nice little party, somewhere in the north-west of France around sunrise. 

This mix contains many oldschool psy gems with a good goa flavour, navigating between Glowing Flame records, old Vertigo releases, some Blue Hour Sounds classics, and few more groovy tunes. 
It comes from a time when I was mixing out most breaks to provide an intense trance dance experience during these kind of morning sets. I hope you'll enjoy the ride as much as I appreciate the memories !

The mastermind behind "Muscaria" is Thomas Wiesinger from Austria. Inspired by old school sounds of the early 90s and the use of multiple hardware synths, his music can be described as experimental psychedelic and his personal sound is characterized as a blend of atmospheres with groovy rhythms and deep psychedelic vibes. He released two full length albums "Liquid Evolution"(2010) and "Liquid (R)evolution"(2013) and one EP "Atmospheric Medicine"(2013). In 2013 he joined the crew of Sonic Loom Music, where he currently produces his latest creations. This exclusive live set, for example, includes the upcoming tracks of the newest Muscaria EP "Sonic Shrooms".
