In his releases on Further Electronix, Exalt Records, Analogical Force & 20:20 Visions he varies in telling stories about dystopian worlds to wrecking dancefloors with glitchy bangers, which is actually the perfect summary of this pearl of a mix.

No stranger to the funkier fringes of the bass/spacetime continuum, BufoBufo – respected producer on labels like Furthur Electronix, Art Of Dark and his own Batrachian, and part of the Ritual Poison and Escape Earth projects with Corporeal Face – graces our Dreamcast series with a mix that blends the glory years of the 90s with the zingiest reformulations of today.

The concept for this mix began back in June 2022 when I started taking an interest in the artists that followed me on Soundcloud. One of the first people I checked out was Emanuel; I was really impressed with their track 'May8X' and decided to try and gather enough music to record a mix. It took a bit longer than I anticipated, but the quality of tunes in exceptional and I highly recommend you follow all of the folks involved immediately!

In the end I also included some unreleased tracks passed to me by Robin Wylie, Ninechecker, Scatterbaux, Zodiac Childs, BufoBufo and WILES (they were simply too good not to share). The keen eyed amongst you will additionally notice two tracks from the forthcoming Jonny3snareS EP on Dynamics Of Acid... more news on that VERY soon!!!)

Serving up a hot-hour workout sprinkled with choppy samples, trippy vocals and enough amen breaks to get even the stiffest of bodies moving. Catch Esmé closing up shop alongside Jerome Hill and April later on this month at The Imaginarium! 👽

Esmé has gained significant underground following in the last few years; playing queer parties such as FrixXxion, Freak Queer Rave, and most recently headlining RUSH in Glasgow at The Berkley Suite. 

Known for her ruthless yet varied vinyl selections, blending acid, breaks and electro; she regularly showcases her sound through her monthly NARR Radio residency. She is also co-founder of the iconic grassroots queer festival, Iconoclast, in the Calder Valley where she is based.

1. Tell us about exciting gigs you have coming up.

This coming weekend I'm playing two gigs I'm really looking forward to - first is License to Jungle in Leeds at the Old Red Bus Station on Friday 10th May... I've been admiring this crew for a while so very excited to be on the lineup! Followed by Open to Close day party at the DBA in Manchester on Saturday 11th May... for this one I'm going b2b with April for 4 hours and we'll be weaving through many genres :)

Later in June I'm also playing for CODE in Manchester alongside Lemon D and Holsten... stoked for this as Lemon D has been one of my favourite producers for a long while!

2. How many ants would it take to lift an elephant?
Ha! Absolutely no idea but google tells me 18,000,000 :D
